ACHIEVEMENTS Best Child Artist Award to a Kvian Abeni Aadhi of Class III, KV Pattom (Shift-I) got the best child artist award (female) by Kerala State Film Awards-2016, for her debut performance in Siddharth Siva's Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho. Her character named Ambili in the film was the best ever child level performance, among all the Malayalam Films released in 2016. Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho was produced under the prestigious banner Udaya Pictures, in which Kunjacko Boban and Anusree played the lead roles. KVS shines in CSE Green School Awards Ceremony New Delhi, February 15, 2017: Four Kendriya Vidyalayas have been recognized in the Green School Awards instituted by Centre for Science and Environment. KV Hebbal (Benguluru Region) bagged the top honour of Greenest School and secured second position all over the country. Kendriya Vidyalaya Rail Wheel Factory, Bengaluru won the award in the category-'waste', while Kendriya Vidyalaya Sunjuwan, Jammu and Kashmir won the award for 'First Audit Submission'. GLIMPSES FROM REGIONS Grand Parents Day Celebration at KV Kathua (J&K) A vegetable cum medicinal garden has been designed for classes 6 to 9 in KV NAD Aluva (Kerala) compound by allotting 80 sq feet of land to each class. This activity is carried out under the guidance of Eco Club teachers. This will further enhance the inclination towards herbal medicines. Children will learn to value medicinal plants around us. Road Safety Week was celebrated in KV No. 2, Delhi Cantt in February. The students were shown movie about road signs, road markings, traffic lights, use of seat belt, how to cross road, use of zebra crossing, safe cycling tips and road safety facts. Practical session was also organised for the students and hand books on road safety were distributed. Short skit presentation by the participants during an in-service course for TGT (AE) at ZIET Mumbai. kkyk /ofu GLIMPSES FROM REGIONS Makar Sankranti Celebration at KV Machhlipatnam Republic Day Celebration at KV Ramavarmapuram. KVS Regional Science Exhibition (JNNSMEE) 2017 of Hyderabad region was conducted successfully on 27/01/2017 and 28/01/2017 in KV Gachibowli on the theme: Science, Technology And Mathematics For Nation Building. The total 50 KVs of Hyderabad region participated with 330 students in six sub-themes, Quiz, Poster making competition and Seminar. The selected six models and quiz team participated at KVS National level Science Exhibition 2017 at KV llsc Bangalore. Out of that one model from KV Gachibowli designed by Md. Taha Sarjeel of class Xll has been selected in KVS Natioal Science Exhibition for next higher level. Two-day workshop on March Past was organized on 24th March 2017 at KV Begumpet for TGT(PhE) in which 37 participants attended the programme. During the programme, positions of the flag bearer, placard bearer, role of the marker, marching commands, command for salute and salutation, by the contingent were explained and practical classes were conducted, emphasis was given on positions, Stand-at ease (Right, Left and About turn) spot marching filein, single line, double line, triple line and dispersal. Officials from Air NCC Warrant officer SL Yadav, Sargent BS Rawat and Corporal Venkateshwarulu conducted the workshop. Nature club activity in KV Adoor.
