Bryan Medlin: Dear School Families, It has been a wonderful week seeing our students back in action around our campus. One of the unique advantages that we have as a Catholic School is the nourishment and feeding of our children's souls. One of the many ways we feed our Children's souls is at the celebration of Mass. In consultation with Principal Glynn, we are trying something new. We will gather as one school community once a month for Mass, usually on the first Wednesday of each month and also on Holy Days of Obligation. For the following weeks, we will be targeting our Masses with the middle school and high school on Wednesdays and the elementary on Thursday. The inspiration came when I was at the School Pastor's Institute at Notre Dame. Some of the advantages are the following: our students will have a greater participation in the Mass (i.e. altar serving, reading, etc.), our elementary students will be reading from the Children's Lectionary which can be used for Children's Masses, the homilies will be more targeted to where they can relate better to the readings and in their lives, and the quality of worship will rise. This is a way of meeting our students at their grade level and help them continue their growth in the faith. This is not set in stone. Let's see what fruits this will bring to our students and our community as a whole. If no fruit is born, then we will go back to the All School Mass at the beginning of the year. In Jesus through Mary, Fr. Bryan Medlin
