EDUCATIONAL TRUST Annanagar Western Extension, Chennai 600 101 State Bank of India Officers' Association (Chennai Circle) The State Bank of India Officers' Association (Chennai Circle) is the sole collective bargaining body of Four Thousand Officers working in the State Bank of India Offices and Branches in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Pondicherry. Its primary objective is to unite all Officers working in the Circle for collective bargaining purposes and to secure its members better service and fair working conditions. It is also committed to redressing their grievances and improving the quality of life of its members, economically, socially and culturally. It was registered on August 14, 1965 as 'State Bank of India Officers' Association (Madras Circle)' under the Trade Union Act. SBI OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL TRUST As part of its non-bargaining activity, the SBIOA (Chennai Circle) sponsored the State Bank of India Officers' Association Educational Trust in the year 1978 and was inaugurated on the 6th June 1979 to synchronise with International Year of Child. The SBIOA Educational Trust was registered as a Society under Societies Registration Act, to establish and manage educational institutions for the benefit of the members' children as well as deserving students irrespective of caste, colour or creed. The first project of the SBIOA Educational Trust is the school started in June 1979 at Anna Nagar Western Extension, Chennai in a compact area of 6.2 acres and at the same time i.e. 1979 the Trust has taken over the primary school in Madurai for developing it into a High School. At present, the Trust runs three Schools at Chennai and one each at Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore and Kochi. Two schools at Chennai and the schools at Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli and Madurai are affiliated to the Matriculation Board of Government of Tamilnadu and others with Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. At present there are about 30,000 children studying in all seven schools. 1

All the schools under the Management of the Trust are run efficiently providing cent percent results in Public Examinations year after year.
