July2017 Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon fon\;k nnkfr fou;e DISHA Exploring Careers of 21 st Century Disha, a Career Fair was organised for grade X students on 21 st July 2017with the aim to make students research and explore various career opportunities as per their acumen and aptitude. The Career fair was organized in 2 phases Panel Discussion and Individual Class Exhibition. The team of Panelists had a Doctor, Lawyer, Charted Accountant, Banker, Vice President MNC, Art historian, Researcher Scientist and an Air force Pilot. Majority of panelists were parents of our students and Alumni along with our School Principal as an educationist. The panel discussion was moderated by 2 grade 10 students. The ice breaking question for the Discussion was the influence of school in the career choices. The most interactive part was the question hour. The students had numerous questions related to different professions, which they asked from the professional veterans. The panel discussion was followed by the career fair organized by students of class X which was visited by parents, students of grade IX and XI and judges. The school had invited 5 Parent judges and 5 Alumni to judge the exhibition in each class. Each judge was given 2 sections. Overall Disha was a very educative experience for the students in exploring their interest in upcoming careers and vocations.

Odyssey of the River Ganges- The Saga Continues. Students of Class VII showcased a special presentation Odyssey of the River Ganges in order to inculcate a sense of responsibility in each and every student for the river Ganga, which is the symbol of India s Culture, the source of our legends and poetry, the sustainer of millions, but at the same time is one of the most polluted rivers today. The event started with the lamp lighting along with the gayatri mantra. School Principal Ms. Arti Chopra addressed the gathering and welcomed parents in the show. The presentation reflected the historical, social and economic significance of the river.through the Nukkad Natak, the young Amitians pledged to take care of the river Ganga by raising the slogan GANGA KAHE PUKAR KE, BACCHON RAKHO MUJHE SAMBHAL KE. TERI GRAM VISIT 2017 AIS-46 organized a field visit at TERI GRAM for class VIII. The students got an experience to study energy-efficient technologies such as biomethanation, wastewater treatment, and bio gasifiers. The micro propagation park at TERI Gram offers research and production facilities for propagation of plants on a large scale by means of tissue culture. Students also learnt about herbal plants.

Mathamity- an innovation based multidisciplinary competition began with a Big Bang in the senior school Mathamity a program being implemented in all Amity schools under the guidance and motivation of our visionary chairperson Dr. Amita Chauhan, was organised in our school. Under this program, the students of classes VI to XI got an opportunity to showcase their mathematical acumen in the remarkable Maths exhibition. The exhibition was successful in serving its purpose by igniting a spirit of enquiry, developing out of box thinking capacities and logical thinking. Students exhibited an excellent teamwork, prepared models and charts implementing various mathematical concepts applicable in our daily life. Screening of this Mathamity Round 1 exhibition was done by teachers and alumni judges on 28th july 2017.

SATURDAY CLUB - Learning is best achieved by Doing AIS Gurgaon -46 launched Saturday Club on July 15, 2017 for the children of grades I to IV with the objective of providing the children with a plethora of opportunities to hone their life skills and thus foster holistic development. The club comprised of various activities for children pertaining to their interests.. The young Amitians were all enthusiastically geared up for their skates club, while the fantastic footballers showed full on energy in kicking the ball and learning the basics. Kinesthetic skills were displayed through taekwondo and the children enjoyed doing the kicks and punches which taught them to be strong and bold. Children learnt foot works and swayed to the beats of music in the nrityashala-the dance club. To facilitate appreciation of music and to encourage musical development; the maestro magic club and rhythm club provided a platform to the students to be the budding singers and instrumentalists. The IT wizards made beautiful designs of the national symbols and also learnt to value and respect the country s symbols. The Crick Crack or the story telling club had many enthusiastic storytellers who were engrossed in listening to the story and took turns to narrate the stories themselves with the use of flash cards. The first Saturday club proved out to be a fun filled great learning experience. MEDALS ADORNING THE AMITY WALL French Olympiad AIS 46 won the overall trophy for Class X in The Amity French Olympiad held on 31 January for all the students of Class IX and X of Amity schools. 13 th Global Harmony -2017Organised by Akhil Bhartiya Sanskriti Aniruddh Sriram and Ribhul Raghuwal of class 11 and Shivang Duseja of class 10 won the First prize in Trio Tabla Duet in senior category In Tabla solo competition Shivanj Duseja secured 3rd prize in Tabla Solo Competition Atharava Arya of class 8 won Chairman consolation award in Juniors category. The winners have been invited to perform in 7th Cultural Olympiads of performing arts, Valladolid, Spain( 21st-26th November) Geomaty Award Aakiriti Sharma of VIIA & Gaurjaa of VIII J won First Prize in Face Painting Anurag Paridha of X & Achintya Gupta of IX won Third Prize in Webography Our team won 5 prize in Dance drama Raman Munajal Debate competition Nilay Asawa won 2nd prize as the best interjector and Khushi Juneja won consolation prize as being one of the best speaker in Raman Munjal Interschool Debating competition Cherished Moments of our Achievers with Honorable Chairperson Ma'am 30 th July was the much awaited day for our achievers from different fields who got a fabulous opportunity to interact with our Chair Person Dr. Amita Chauhan during her campus visit. She congratulated all the winners for their glorious achievements and motivated them to aspire, act and achieve.
