Every attempt was made to contact parents of students receiving the awards, and all parents are most welcome to attend assemblies. OPASQUIA SCHOOL ROCKS École Opasquia School would like to thank all the families who helped support the bake sale in support of Dallan Coulter and who generously donated baking. We raised $ 1 058. 60! THANK YOU Once again, a Special Thank You to our great community, staff, students and families, for their generous and considerate donations to our Student Support Centre (SSC), for various donations of food, supplies and winter clothing. PARENTS - PLEASE If making changes for your child after school, please let the school office know prior to 3:00 pm. Also, if you are arriving before 3:45 to pick up your child for an appointment etc., please check in at the office DO NOT go directly to the classroom to get them, as this interrupts the whole classroom and is a safety concern for all. If you have any questions, please call the office at 204-623-3459. ALSO Students with unpaid lunch fees and who go home for lunch should leave the school at 12:00 noon and not return before 12:55 pm, as there is no supervision prior to class starting. OUTDOOR/INDOOR RECESS: Regular outdoor recess breaks occur to temperatures of -29 C. When the temperature is between -30 C to -34 C students will go outside for the two 15 minute recess breaks, but remain indoors for the 30 minute lunch hour break. Indoor recesses occur when the temperature is -35 C or lower. PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES Parent /Teacher conferences are just around the corner. They will be held in the evening Thursday, March 12 th and on Friday, March 13 th, during the day. Reports will be sent out to parents on Monday, March 9, 2015. Parents can begin contacting the school on Wednesday, March 4 th, 2015 to book interview times. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2015-2016 Date: Tuesday, April 14, 2015 Where: École Opasquia School @ 6:00 pm What: Kindergarten Registration for the 2015-2016 school year. Age: 5 years old on or before December 31, 2010 (Born in 2010) We will be offering English full day / alternate day program and French Immersion full day / alternate day program. Please contact the school, if you have questions or concerns.

Indoor recesses occur when the temperature is -35 C or lower. SCHOOL OF CHOICE Procedures for 2015-2016 1. Parents/Guardians can request a move to another school. 2. Requests to attend the Kelsey School Division Alternate School (Mary Duncan) will be referred to a selection committee to be reviewed based on a list of criteria. Parents can contact the schools for a copy of the criteria. 3. Requests must be made in writing by the deadline of May 15, 2015. In order to fulfill the request there must be room in the grade level and suitable programming. 4. All requests will be processed in the order they are received. 5. Written requests for a change of schools must be directed to the Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Doug Long. The written request must include the student s full name, current grade level and the reason for the request.
