DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS FIRST IN FAMILY: This is a reception and ceremony honoring graduates who are the first in their immediate family to graduate from high school. The immediate family is defined as parent(s)/guardian(s) and siblings. During the ceremony honored graduates are required to wear cap and gown. Brief in nature, the ceremony includes an official presentation of graduates in which they receive a congratulatory gift and a certificate of honor. Participants are required to sign up for the event. THE SENIOR WALK: In its third year, this event is quickly becoming a school tradition. After gathering to take the official senior class photograph, the seniors are guided by administration on a parade route throughout the hallways of Haltom High School. As they pass through the halls, seniors are greeted by cheers, posters and well wishes from faculty, staff and the Haltom High School student body. The entire school pauses on this day to recognize the graduating class and to bid them a fond fair well. POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL GAME: This is an annual end of the year fund raising flag football game, between the roughest, toughest all female teams of juniors vs. seniors. To participate in this event, athletes must attend an informational meeting and pay an entry fee of $20.00. All participants receive a commemorative t-shirt. Coaches for the event are selected from the Haltom Buffalo Varsity Football Team. Like all coaches, they demand their team members attend practices prior to the competition. Don t let the name fool you, it is a physical game, held at one of the districts official football field. There is a $3.00 charge for entry to the game..
