Roswell High School Class of 2015 April 16, 2015 Dear Parents of Graduating Seniors: It s almost over! The journey that your student began 13 years ago will be finished in a few weeks! These last few weeks will be busy. This letter is a summary of all that is planned for the Class of 2015. The main event is the actual graduation ceremony, which will be held Friday, May 22 nd at 7:30 p.m. in the stadium of Roswell High School. Some other special events are: TheYearbook Dedication, senior picnic, and the senior breakfast. Upcoming events and activities Yearbook Dedication and Senior Picnic The yearbook dedication and senior picnic will take place on Friday May 15 th. Yearbooks will be distributed to the seniors at that time. The seniors will proceed outside where the senior picnic will take place. The picnic this year will be catered by Bill s Grills on Wheels. If you paid class dues your meal is covered. If not, you will need to purchase a ticket. ALL students must have a ticket in order to receive their food, even if you paid class dues. Food tickets will be given out Monday April 27 th thru Friday May 8 th. Students can pick up/or purchase their tickets for the picnic and receive their rain tickets for graduation in the front office. If you have not paid class dues and will paying for your meal and the prices are as follows: Chicken Sandwich/Cheese Burger/Hamburger/Veggie Burger will be $8.00, Hot Dogs will be $7.00. The meal includes sandwich option, two side items from the following: cookies, chips, coleslaw, or potato salad.and Brusters Ice Cream. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Ball or one of your senior class officers or Ms. Hillegas in the front office. Baccalaureate: This is an inspirational service sponsored by parents of the Roswell High School community. Rehearsal will be Wednesday, May 13th, at 4:00 at Roswell United Methodist Church, 814 Mimosa Boulevard. The Baccalaureate service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th, also at Roswell United Methodist Church. Students should arrive at the church at 2:00 p.m. Caps and Gowns will be worn at this service. A reception will be held at Roswell United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Baccalaureate is not a school event or function. This year One Last Blast will be held at Andretti s Indoor Carting and Games from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. The facility will be closed to the public. Check In starts at 6:30 and doors lock at 7:00 p.m. (There will be NO ins or outs). Tickets will be sold during the Senior Parent meeting and during lunch hours May 11 th 15 th in the gym lobby. The cost is $50 per student. The ticket price includes 4 hours of fun, food, music, and a t-shirt, and for a few lucky winners Door Prizes! Be sure to sign the Andretti release form for your senior to ride the cars! Donations are always welcomed! Checks should be payable to RHSPTSA. Senior Final Exams Date Monday, May 18 Tuesday, May 19 Exam 3 rd and 4 th periods (Part 1) during the normal class period 3rd and 4th periods (Part 2) during the normal class period Wednesday May 20 5 th period exam - 8:20 10:20 Break 10:20 10:30 6th period exam - 10:30 12:30 (Make up exams at 1:00) Thursday, May 21 1st period exam - 8:20 10:20 Break 10:20 10:30 2nd period exam - 10:30 12:30 (Make up exams at 1:00) Friday, May 22 Underclass final day 3rd period exam 8:20 10:20 Break: 10:20 10:30 4th period exam 10:30 12:30 There will be NO Check outs during the final exam period. Checks out will only be during the break period and parents must come to the Attendance Office to check students out. Senior Breakfast The breakfast will be held at the Chick-Fil-A Target shopping center and is a drop in basis from 9:30 11:00 am.there is a set menu for breakfast that will be free of charge for seniors. Tickets will be issued at the door at Chick-Fil-A. Students that have any holds at the school will not be allowed to participate in the breakfast until all outstanding holds have been paid. Graduation The graduation ceremony will take place on Friday, May 22nd at 7:30 p.m. in Ray Manus Stadium. Seniors need to arrive at school by 6:15 p.m. and report to their assigned classrooms. Appropriate attire for the graduation ceremony: young men should wear a white shirt, tie, dress slacks, and dress shoes; young ladies should wear a dress or blouse and skirt, and flat shoes. The dress should not hang below the hem of the graduation gown. Please make sure your student arrives for the ceremony appropriately attired. Students should not wear t-shirts, haltertops, tank tops, jeans, etc. In an effort to provide an enjoyable graduation experience for all in attendance, if you believe that you will require special seating arrangements to accommodate those with special needs please contact Cathy Hillegas at hillegas@fultonschools.org before May 20th. These tickets will need to be picked up in the front office by May 21 st. If graduation takes place in the stadium, there will be no need for tickets, and seating will be unlimited. Gates will open at 6:00 pm for seating. The actual diploma will be handed out to our graduates immediately after the ceremony in the cafeteria. Staff will be in the cafeteria for 15 minutes after the ceremony. Please make sure your student picks up their diploma.

RAIN PLAN! We will issue Rain Tickets in the front office starting the week of April 27th. Students are responsible for their own tickets and there are NO replacement tickets. Each family will receive tickets as follows: 4 tickets per family, which will allow entrance into the main gym. Seating is limited due to the gym s capacity and the fire code. 2 additional tickets per family, which will allow entrance into auxiliary sites (cafeteria/auditorium) so that the ceremony can be viewed via live feed. The tickets will be color coded to differentiate the two locations. The Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday, MAY 22nd AT 7:30 P.M. REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER. A decision regarding whether or not graduation will have to be held indoors will be made at 3:00 p.m. on Friday May 22nd. An email will be sent out to all Senior Parents, whose email addresses we have, if necessary due to weather. Honor Cords Graduating seniors with an overall average of 88.0+ are recognized as Honor Graduates. Honor Graduates are distinguished in the graduation ceremony by wearing a gold Honor Cord with their cap and gown. Students may pick up their Honor Cords from the Student Services Office. Beta Club Seniors who have met the requirements will receive a Beta cord to be worn at graduation. Students who have met the requirements service hours, GPA and behavior can pick up their cord in Student Service office after May 15th. Please contact Ms. Kirk in Student Services with any questions. National Honor Society NHS stoles can be picked up from Mrs. Ally Williams in Room E104 in May after ALL service hours have been completed. Videos Available A multi-camera recording of the Graduation Ceremony will be available in DVD format. The cost is $15.00 each. Order form is included with this letter. You can mail the form into the school or drop it off at the front office. Scholarship Recognition in Graduation Program New this year, we will honor scholarship recipients through recognition in the graduation program. We will recognize all scholarships students have been awarded, whether they are accepting them or not. Students have two ways to provide their scholarship information to Student Services for recognition: 1. Enter their scholarship information through the Senior Exit Survey (online, details below) 2. Provide a copy of the award letter(s) to Mrs. Mundkur in Student Services before April 28, 2015. It is the student/parent responsibility to provide the scholarship information to the school for inclusion in the graduation program. All scholarship information provided to Student Services by May 1, 2015 will be included in the graduation program. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this deadline.

ALL seniors are required to check-out through Student Services before graduation events can take place. This step is required to ensure students complete the Fulton County required forms and surveys before exiting Roswell High School. Students received their check-out form through their English class the week of April 13 th. This form covered key steps they must complete in a timely manner. Additional copies of the form are in the Student Services Office and located on our website, www.roswellstudentservices.wordpress.com. All steps on this form should be completed by Tuesday, April 28 th and the form should be turned into Ms. Mundkur in Student Services. A completed check-out form must be on file for all seniors. A summary of the information found on the check-out form is below: Fulton County Required Senior Exit Survey (Roswell Must Have 100% Participation) Students log onto the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015seniorexitsurvey Complete the Senior Exit Survey in its entirety. Please remember to hit DONE when you get to the end of the survey. Students will need their Student ID # to complete this survey. Students will be asked to list ALL scholarship offers that they received, even ones they are not accepting. Please enter that information accurately and completely. This will be reported in the graduation program. This survey MUST be completed by April 28, 2015. ***** During the week of April 20, we will begin calling students out of class to complete the survey online if they have not completed it already. PLEASE support your senior by helping them complete it online at home and check this item off their list! ***** Final Transcript Request and College Acceptance Information Students will indicate where they would like their final transcript sent. If they are unsure at this time, it is their responsibility to request their final transcript through the appropriate venue by May 26, 2015. Even if they do not plan to start college in the fall, they must still fill out this form. In the space indicated to write their post-secondary institution, write what their plans are (work, military, unsure, etc). Students will complete a chart indicating all schools they applied to and what the admissions decisions results were. This form MUST be completed by April 28, 2015.

Final Check-Out Make sure they entered all scholarship awards in the Senior Exit Surveyeven those they aren t accepting. If they forgot to enter some in the online survey, bring a copy of the award letter to Ms. Mundkur in Student Services. Make sure they have completed the Senior Exit Survey. Come to the Student Services Office. Hand Ms. Mundkur the form completely filled out. Everything is due to the Student Services Office by April 28, 2015. Sincerely, Jerome Huff. Principal
