Before we know it fluffy snow will be blanketing the area! With our 96th Annual Winter Carnival on February 2-4, 2018 we sure hope snow is in the forecast! The festival will include Town favorites like the live downtown ice carvings, parade of lights, fireworks, K-9 Keg Pull and cardboard sled race! Volunteers will be needed, if you are interested please let us know! Greenfield Recreation continues to enrich the lives of the residents of Greenfield by providing safe, welcoming parks and recreation facilities and affordable, diverse recreation and cultural opportunities for people of all ages to play, learn, and build community. 3RD & 4TH GRADE TRAVEL BASKETBALL LEAGUE This recreational travel league program is for both new and experienced basketball players in grades 3 & 4. The program places an emphasis on good sportsmanship and having fun. Volunteer coaches will guide players through skills and drills that will help to improve their skills, coordination, and self-confidence. Practices are held twice a week on a rotating schedule. Games are held on Saturdays beginning in January and will take place around the region. Please note, Boys and Girls teams may be combined based on enrollment. Skiing & Snowboarding SKI & SNOWBOARD PROGRAM Join us for four Saturdays in January of fun and adventure on the slopes of Franklin County s own Berkshire East Ski Resort in Charlemont. With over 40 trails to choose from, Berkshire East offers skiing or snowboarding for all skill levels. All participants must stay with a chaperone all day except for those ages 12 and older. Parents and adults are welcome to participate as well and take advantage of our special program pricing. All participants are encouraged to wear helmets, which can be rented directly from Berkshire East during the program. Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the mountain. Participants must meet the chaperone at 10:00am in the Main Lodge. Parents must pick their children up from the Main Lodge at 3:15pm. Additional forms will be required for rentals and lessons. Registrations are due by December 1st!! Registration Info REGISTRATION INFORMATION A Resident: One who resides in The Town of Greenfield. A Non-Resident: One who resides outside of the Town of Greenfield. Only registered participants are permitted in each program. Visitors and guests are strictly prohibited. Walk-In: In person registrations may be made as soon as you receive your brochure. You can use the drop box next to the front door at the Recreation Deptartment. All registrations are on a first come, first serve PAID basis. Complete entire registration form and sign the WAIVER AGREEMENT. Register early as programs have a minimum and maximum enrollment. Mail-In: Mail-in registration may be made using the registration form at the back of this brochure. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you need a receipt. FRIENDS OF GREENFIELD RECREATION The Friends are a wonderful group of volunteers who support the Recreation Department and the continuation of programs, activities, and events so they will be open to all residents. We thank them for their time and energy to help staff events, recruit donations, raise funds for equipment and scholarships, and in general to believe in the benefits of recreation for our community. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the Recreation Department. Online: Online registration can be completed by following the registration link on our website. User names and pin numbers are sent our via e-mail to all users in our database with valid email addresses. All new accounts must be approved before online registration can begin. Online registration closes one week prior to the the program start date. Register early as programs have a minimum and maximum enrollment. Season passes can only be renewed online, new registrations will have to be submitted in person or by mail. A 5% non-refundable convenience fee is charged for all online registrations. Waiting Lists: We do maintain wait lists at no cost. We will attempt to offer additional classes for programs with large wait lists. Credit Cards: We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover credit cards for program registrations. An additional 5% convenience fee is required for Credit Card purchases. Credit card registrations are accepted by online registration, mail, fax, and in person. All refunds will be applied to credit card. No phone registrations. Cancellations: Class cancellations & program changes please call 413-772-1553. Notices will also be posted on facebook and twitter. If a program has not met the minimum enrollment requirement one week prior to the first class, it will be cancelled. Refunds: A refund will only be granted when Greenfield Recreation is notified one week PRIOR to the first day of the program. If a refund is distributed, a $5 administration fee will be assessed. ADA Compliance: We will make reasonable accommodation, upon request, for people with disabilities. Financial Aid: If you are unable to pay due to hardship, please request an Application for Reduced Fee. All requests are confidential and considered on an individual basis.
