STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2017-18 All 2nd and 3rd year students fulfilling the eligibility norms can contest for the posts mentioned below: 1. President 2. Vice president (reserved for 2nd year students) 3. General Secretary 4. Associate Secretary (reserved for 2nd year lady students) 5. Treasurer 6. Ladies Secretary (reserved for ladies and voted by lady students) 7. Academic Secretary 8. Cultural Secretary 9. Sports Secretary (reserved for sports students) Eligibility Norms of Candidates for Student Council: Only II and III year students are eligible to contest and vote. Students should not have been found guilty of violating any of the college rules and regulations and should bear an impeccable character. It is mandatory for students to have passed in all subjects in all the end semester examinations conducted by the college in first attempt with minimum of 6 SGPA. Students who have had shortage of attendance cannot contest the elections. There should be at least two contestants for every post, failing which the management has the right to nominate a candidate or cancel the elections to that post.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR CANDIDATES 1. Campaigning can begin only after the announcement of the Final List of Candidates 2. Candidates should submit the election manifesto before starting the campaign 3. Active campaigning in college campus will be permitted only during the specified days 4. The following are not permitted: a) Flex Banners or printed posters b) Distribution of stickers c) Gifts of any kind in cash, materials, food, or otherwise d) Getting outsiders and old students for the campaign e) Display of banners or posters inside classrooms, staff rooms and office f) Display of posters outside the college campus g) Anti - canvassing and Group - canvassing h) Writing, sticking, posting on the walls of the college i) Using Vehicles for campaigning j) Bursting of crackers inside and outside the campus and using holicolors k) Class to class campaigning 5. Handmade posters are permitted to be hung on the wall by a string around the basketball court 6. Respect for other contestants, moderation and mutual understanding is expected in the matter of exhibiting posters 7. Speeches for elections should adhere to the submitted manifesto 8. Speeches will be held in the ground during lunch break the day before elections 9. All campaigning ends on the previous evening of the Election Day 10. All posters and materials used for campaigning should he cleared during lunch break of the Election Day THE ELECTION COMMITTEE CONSISTS OF THE PRINCIPAL, MEMBERS OF THE TQM AND THE STUDENT GOVERNOR. ANY BREACH OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION OF THE CANDIDATES. THE DECISION OF THE ELECTION COMMITTEE TO DISQUALIFY A CANDIDATE WILL BE FINAL.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COUNCIL MEMBERS The student council will set a good example to the students by upholding the principles of the college firmly. The council should commit itself to promoting the all-round development of the student community in line with college objectives- Academic Excellence, Social Concern and Character Formation and to represent students in all their endeavors and voice out their opinions. President President is the head of the student council who takes responsibility for the functioning of the council. He/She initiates the council for regular meetings to plan or review the state of progress in execution of activities. He/She takes responsibility for the actions and decisions of fellow members. Vice President Vice President will assist the President in coordinating and monitoring all activities of the council. General Secretary The General Secretary will prepare agenda for the monthly meetings of the student council. He/She will record the minutes of every meeting, keeps record of all events conducted (reports & photographers), maintains the details of participation in the intercollegiate fests, keeps track of articles published in the media related to college activities and students. Associate Secretary The Associate Secretary will assist the General Secretary in preparing the agenda for the monthly meetings of the student council. He/she will also help in circulating notices of the meetings and keeps the council s correspondence. Treasurer Treasurer will maintain the accounts of the council. He/She will prepare the budget and statement of accounts for every activity which will be scrutinised before approval by the student governor and then by the Principal. He/she will manage the funds and provide receipts for the expenses used for the college activities and will be held responsible for both monetary and non-monetary receipts.
Ladies Secretary She will help organise programs for girls and will reflect their needs and interests. She is responsible for the holistic development of lady students and helps nurture qualities for better empowerment of lady students. Academic Secretary He/She is responsible for conducting intra and inter-collegiate Business Fests with the help of other council members. Also coordinates training and participation of talented and interested students in business fests at all levels. His/her responsibility will include combining academic excellence with extracurricular activities. Cultural Secretary He/She takes responsibility of conducting intra and inter-collegiate cultural fests with the help of other council members. Also coordinates in identifying talented and interested students and ensures participation in cultural fests of other colleges. Sports Secretary He/She coordinates and implements activities of the sports department as per the guidance of the Head of the Sports Department. Sports Induction Programmes, Sports day and the inter-collegiate sports fest are the main events in the college which are organised by the sport coordinator with the help of the council.

B.Com Professional Coordinator He/she will coordinate and implement activities of the B.Com Professional department with the guidance of the Head of the Department. Organising student seminars and academic related activities pertaining to the specific requirements of the department is the responsibility of B.Com Professional Coordinator. B.Com BPM - Industry Integrated Coordinator He/she will coordinate and implement activities of the B.Com II department with the responsibility of B.Com II Coordinator. B.Com TT Coordinator He/she will coordinate and implement activities of the B.Com TT department with the responsibility of B.Com TT Coordinator. BBA Coordinator He/she will coordinate and implement activities of the BBA department with the responsibility of BBA Coordinator. PG Coordinator He/she will coordinate and implement activities of the PG department with the responsibility of PG Coordinator.
