Prasanna Kumar was nominated by the department as the President of the Commerce Forum and assisted by Vice President Prof. Smitha. As per the tradition, the student Secretaries and the Joint Secretaries of B.Com., B.Com (Corporate) and B. B. A., were elected by way of Elections which was held on 7 th July, 2011. This Year Nakul Vignesh Nagaraj (09 CO 642), Timothy Salvious (09 BC 028), and Gautham Muthukal (09 BU 022) were elected as the Secretary of B.Com., B.Com (Corporate) and B. B. A., respectively. And Chandrakanth (10 CO 462), Lourdu Jerome (10 BC 005) and Vummudi Kritish (10 BU 056) were elected as the Joint Secretaries of B.Com., B.Com (Corporate) and B. B. A., respectively. Inauguration:- The new commerce forum was officially inaugurated on 26th of July 2011 at the Betram Hall in the Loyola College campus. The chief guest for the day was Mr. Syed Arifullah Hr Manager GRT group of companies. To grace the occasion were the Rev. Fr. A team of second year students took up this idea and together with the office bearers made it a big hit and the event was generally welcomed by the students. The two day event started with 500 RUPEE CHALLENGE, where a team of seven students volunteers had to sell a business concept outside the college of their choice with the given amount of Rs.500 depending on the preliminary round and 3

should submit their report which were evaluated. The event was adjudged by Mr. Aboo Backer Managing Director of Wahid Export and Mr. Amit Kinger a Real Estate entrepreneur. They were asked to speak for and against it. The explanation was then questioned by the judges in the rebottling session. The prelims were judged by our alumnae Mr. Adithya Mohan. This event was chaired by Mr. Karthikayan an entrepreneur and a soft skill trainer. The Winners were:- 1 st year ANUJ KOHLI (11 CO 335), ASHWIN (11 BC 040) Year SRIDHAR (10 CO 435), JEFF ANTONY (10 CO 238) 3 rd Year DEV DIXIT (09 BU 80), TUSHAR ANAND (09 BU 023) SALEMANSHIP A Corporate level marketing game, where the participants were asked to put forth their products and actually launch them. The crisp details were noticed and the brand value that was carried by the participants were some of the major criteria for judging. The students were asked to form a team of five. The event was judged in the prelims by our alumnus Gaurav Gupta. The final event was adjudged by Mr. Laxman an entrepreneur and a soft skill trainer. HARVARD CASE STUDY Analytical games were different case studies were given to the participants two days in advance and they had to understand and solve the hindrance that arises in that case. It was a challenging event and the participants were immensely involved in the event. The event was adjudged Mr. J. SHEKAR (Managing Director of Hospitality for five star Hotels). The Winners were:- 1 st year ASHWIN CHABBRIA (11-BC-040) Year VAIBHAV MEHTA (10-CO-274), AJAY BHARATH (10-CO-219) 3 rd Year GANSHAM KINGER (09-CO-520) BUSINESS PLAN GAME An exclusive case study game for third year students was organized in collaboration with Charted Institute Management Accountants (CIMA) who gave the participants a case study of a sick company to be revamped to meet the present scenario. A team consisting of four students were given a tough challenge a day prior to the event for them to prepare. The chief guest and this event were adjudged by Mr. Ram Prakash, Director, Capri Accounting and Professional Services. The Winners were:- SANKET GOLECHA (09-BU-11), GANSHAM (09-CO-520), 3 rd Year AKASH AGARWAL (09-CO-501), NITHISH (09-CO-439). PAPER PRESENTATION was also held where the desired students could actually present their papers on stage regarding the topics that they have prepared and the papers were evaluated by Dr. J. Arul Suresh. The Winners:- Year SOLOMON CECIL (10-CO-243) 3 rd Year SAHIL JAIN (09-BU-076) Both 25 th and 26 th September proved to be amazing for the participants and the expectations have gone up. Special prizes were given to the winners and the participants were also awarded during the Valedictory Function headed by Mr.Venkatraman, Director of Personnel Department, Delphi TVS. This intracultural extravaganza has set high standards for the future batches to make it big. 5

Stella Maris College, Chennai - COMBAT 11 Trade Master:- Team 1: Chiraag Kinger and Nimish Mehta. Team 2: Rishab Bothra and Nikhil Khicha were the two teams which participated in the event Break the Barter:- Currency Designing. Our team won the 1st position. Team 1: Abhinandan Jain and Gautam Muthukali Team 2: Rishab Bothra and Nikhil Khicha Rome - in an hour:- Himanshu Bohra and Neeraj Shankla were the participants. The Basilica:- Event based on bringing out new and innovative business ideas and present it through a power point presentation. Akash Gupta and Aman Gupta - Won 1st place in the event. Pandora s Box (Shipwreck and Jam) - Darshan Vijay - Won 1st place. War of the Vikings (Block and Tackle) - Participant - Gautam Muthukali Madras Christian College, Tambaram - LA CORRIDA 11 The team from Loyola College won the 1st place out of 12 colleges participated in La corrida 11. The team came first in events like paper presentation, quiz, best manager, management gestures. The team had a comfortable position in Adzap and Corporate Collage. Team members were Rohan chinni, pravesh, prashanth palepu, aravinthan, ajith mahbubani, Sree Krishnan, Achyuth Ram, Shabith, Praveen Kumar, Yohan Samual Jose, Vikram Singh, Blessing Samuel Prince, Mohamed Farhan, Mithin Moorya. Christ University, Bengaluru - ESPRIT 11 The God Particle Best Manager:- Our student Sanket Golecha made it to the last elimination of Day 1 but fell short by a few points to make it to Day 2. The Grand Trine Strategist:- Our students Tushar Anand and Dev Dixit made their way to the finals on Day 2 by leading the chart among the rest. Disambiguation Finance:- Tushar Jain and Sahil Jain made their way to the finals with ease but failed to woo the judges to retain a position in the finals on Day 2 of the fest. 7

The Illuminati Human Resource - Gautam Muthukali and Rishab Bothra were the representatives from our college. Harmonic Convergence Marketing:- Our represenatives Akash Gupta and Magandeep Singh made it to the last round on Day 1 Einstein Business Quiz - Our students Abhinay Rathi and Sahil Kumar made it to round 3 on Day 1 with 75 points out of 150 but that didnt take them far and they were eliminated at the end of Day 1. Other Activities:- Tour:- This year 150 students were taken for a 4 day tour to Cochin, Munnar and Veega Land accompanied by Prof. Salathiyan, Prof. Jesu Kulandairaj, Prof. Charles Jail Singh, Dr. J. Arul Suresh, Prof. S. Prasanna Kumar from 15 th to 18 th August 2011. B. F. S. Scheme (Books from Senior s):- Dr. J. Arul Suresh with the help of B.F.S volunteers was able to collect 100 books approximately from the students so that they will be lent to economically backward students. Upcoming Events:- Management Week February 3 rd week of 2012. National Conference on contemporary benchmarking in banking and insurance sectors in India (NACCBBIS) is to be held on 15 th & 16 th February, 2012.
