The students are settling in and the regular routine of school is going well. This time of year is essential to preparing our students for their current classes, studying the curriculum, and prepping for some of the state assessments. It is also the time we begin looking to the future. Ms. Willey, our guidance counselor, will be working with our freshman, sophomores, and juniors to plan their schedules for next year. We continue to be committed to offering a variety of classes for students with multiple interests. College prep classes, vocational, and dual credit classes are just a sampling of what we offer our students. This is also an exciting time of year for our seniors. Each of them will be looking to their future plans, selecting college choices, vocational training, or entering the workforce full-time as an adult. We would also like to congratulate all the music students that participated in the regional solo and ensemble competition at Bloomington North this past weekend. EGHS was well represented. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our music students. In athletics, girls basketball is preparing for the sectional tournament and the boys basketball sectional tournament is just around the corner. Finally, throughout this issue of the Thunderbird Beat there is information for everyone. Please take a moment and review all the exciting events and activities taking place at EGHS. Please feel free to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at dlewis@egreene.k12.in.us or at 812-825-5621. BE PROUD THUNDERBIRDS! Doug Lewis, Principal
