ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL JODHPUR Editorial NEWS LETTER, JANUARY 2017 (ARYABHATTA HOUSE) (Vol.No.01) Life has meaning only in the journey. Triumph or defeat is in the hand of God. So let us celebrate the journey. -Stevie Wonder Change your perception towards life and the journey will be more exciting. With the same thought if we celebrate all the moments of life, we can make our life more worthy and exciting. For this reason, school organizes several functions inside the campus and it gives opportunity to the students to work in a team. Here, we also celebrate Annual Function to incite many hearts with new zeal. It gives an opportunity to all the students of the school to exhibit their talents in different ways. For instance we organized VISION the annual function to give a new outlook to the people, which was the amalgamation of various performances by the children with an inspiring message of EYE DONATION. Our tiny tots enthralled the audience with their panoramic performances. I would like to quote the inspiring words of Jonathan Swift, Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. So keep your vision positive. Such visionary celebrations spread the beam of laughter, the tear of utmost happiness, the hard work, appreciation and the most important positive criticism. This month was full of activities by the students and teachers in academic, co-curricular and extracurricular. Due to the mutual efforts of our APS fraternity, we reached the pinnacle of perfection in whatever the task was given to us. It was quite inspiring to watch and witness the potential of our students at various stages and situations each day. So be thankful for such beautiful journey. Find happiness in every moment and celebrate life, this will complete your pursuit ofhappiness. Spread Happiness!! -Ms. NehaSen (TGT English)

Mrs. Pratichee Sharma (TGT Mathematics) MARTYR S DAY In this fast changing world every individual is on its way to gain name, fame and money. But there are some people who not only left their happiness but also their beloved parents, wives, children for the sake of their motherland. These are none other than the soldiers who sacrifice all for the safety and protection of our nation, so it is our obligatory duty to pay respect to their extra ordinary martyrdom. The Nation pays homage to the martyrs who suffered and died for the freedom, welfare, and progress of the country, on January 30 every year. It was on January 30, 1948 that Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated a little before the sunset when he was going to attend his evening prayers. Gandhi ji was the greatest among the millions of martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed everything for the country s Independence, welfare and progress. Since Gandhiji s martyrdom on January 30, 1948 this day was declared as the Martyrs Day. Since then every year the Nation pays homage to the Mahatma and other martyrs on this day. Our Army Public School, Jodhpur celebrated 30 th January, 2017 as 63rd Martyr s Day. All the students of the school are very closely connected to the Army as most of the students are from Army background families. On that special day, all the students, teachers, staff- members observed two minutes silence to pay tribute to the mighty and brave Indians soldiers. Our teachers thrown light on patriotism and shared some stories, facts and figures. We were informed that our brave soldiers face various adverse climatic conditions including severe cold of Leh and Ladakh, the marshy land of Sunderbans and coastal regions, the scorching heat of western dry deserts. But above all of these they sacrifice all they possess for our motherland. So, we should pay tribute to our brave soldiers, their families, and their sacrifice which are inexplicable through words. At last, it is well said by Soren Kierkegaard that, The tyrant dies and his rule is over, the martyr dies and his rule begins. JAI HIND! -Praveen Kumar Yadav (10 th F )
Book Fair - Kitabon Books are the only medium which can change the whole world This seems true when we went to Vidyasharam International School s KITABO FEST'. It was so joyful and amazing moment of our lives. When we came to our school, we were informed that we are going to visit a book fest in Vidyasharam School. When we reached there, the school staff welcomed us with a warm smile. The school was decorated like a real fest and for main entry they hired a special Auto with the name 'Kitabo'. There were many stalls of books, comics, encyclopedias and many more for different age groups. Some interesting sessions like Kissa-Kona, Think-tank, Brain Train, Orchestra, and skit were performed by small kids of fourth standard. We listened stories, poems and were also taken part in art and craft activities. Many other schools were present there. We attended counseling session also which was interesting and unique according to us. The books teach us that the syllabi knowledge is not the only knowledge but we should also gain some extra knowledge to shape up our future and enrich our personality too. The fest taught us to learn and read the books in an innovative way. It also taught us that we should not take the books or studies as a burden rather than in a fun full way. In this way our brain becomes creative and imaginative to discover our hidden talent to take it to new heights. The place was full of positive and inspiring environment for studies, cocurricular activities and everything related to school life. - Sheetal (IX A)
