CORPORATE-SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY 1. Education and Skill Development a. Green Diwali-Clean Diwali On 7 th November 2015, the Social Club, GNIOT CARES, organized ROSHNI event in the main campus to teach under-privilege kids and women about the side-effects of crackers on the environment. The Vice Chairman, Director-132, Dean Academics, all HOD s and personnel of GNIOT (faculty & staff) attended. On this event, blankets, clothes, sweats, candles were distributed. Play on Untouchability On 14 th April, 2016, the Social Club, GNIOT CARES The GNIOT CARES celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar. Vice-Chairman, Shri B.L.GuptaJi, along with Directors Dr. Rohit Garg and Dr. Savita Mohan along with all the HODs were present at the event. 2. Women Empowerment a. Workshop on Women Empowerment Representatives of the college s Womens Grievance Cell attended a workshop on Women Empowerment organized by MTU, Noida. The team included Dr. Savita Mohan, Ms. Minashi Awasthi, Ms. Vasudha Tiwari and Ms. Shikha Jalota. b. Play on Dowry System On 17th March 2016, The Social Club, GNIOT CARES, staged a play on Dowry System in the campus. The play highlighted the nuisances of this system which is even prevalent in our modern times. STUDENTS STAGING THE PLAY 3. Health and mal-nutrition a. Blood Donation Camp On 16 th September 2015, the college organized a Blood donation camp at GNIOT in association with Rotary Club of Ghaziabad, South End. Vice-Chairman, Shri B.L SharmaJi, Director, Dr. Rohit Garg, all HOD s, President, Rtn. Pankaj Sharma; Secretary, Rtn. Gyanendra Singh; Chairman, Rtn. Mukesh Goyal of rotary Club, were present. b. Visit to Old-Age Home to donate medicines On 26 th Sep, 2015, the Social Club, GNIOT CARES, organized a visit to old age home at Sarita Vihar. The old-age home is primarily instituted to look after old people who have lost their memory due to Alzheimer disease. These people do not remember their family nor remember where they are from. The old age home is run by Dr.G.B.Bhagat. The club donated cash for the medicines and other medical facilities for the in-mates. They also donated blankets for the in-mates. Rain-Water Harvesting The revival of traditional systems of water harvesting as a practical solution for drought and to raise underground water level, the organization has installed rainwater harvesting system in its campus. Tree Plantation On 25 th January, 2016, the TechClub and GNIOT CARES came together to salute the martyrdom of soldiers who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation. On this event Vice-Chairman, Shri B.L.GuptaJi Director, Dr. Rohit Garg, along with all the faculty members and students planted over 20 trees in the college campus.
