SCHOLARSHIP DONORS I wanted to further ACG s historic mission of providing an American style education to deserving Greek students. Establishing an endowed scholarship fund has provided this benefit not only to the current recipients but also to those who will follow. What a satisfying return on our investment! Peter Thun, ACG Trustee Emeritus, Chairman/CEO Thun Holdings Inc., Liverpool, New York, US The future of Greece and of Greek businesses is dependent on competitiveness, which in turn demands talented and well-trained young people with fresh ideas and international exposure and experience AB Vassilopoulos Kostas Macheras, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Southeastern Europe & Asia at Delhaize Group and Chief Executive Officer of AB Vassilopoulos Thinking that some fellow humans will benefit from these scholarships in order to further their potential makes me feel useful as a person. Ioanna Arvanitis, DEREE & PIERCE Parent, Athens, Greece SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS PIERCE My parents couldn t afford the expenses of a highly qualified school such as PIERCE. Thanks to the scholarship fund, I was able to successfully complete my studies. I owe very much, almost everything about my education, to PIERCE. Anna Benaki, PIERCE 1952, Athens, Greece Member of the Academy of Athens, Professor Emeritus of Criminal Law, University of Athens, Minister and Former President of the Greek Parliament DEREE In the past few years, the only thing certain has been financial uncertainty ahead, so this scholarship provides me with the much needed comfort and reassurance that I can complete my degree. The Propeller Club Scholarship is the lifeboat that will carry me to the final port of graduation despite the growing financial roadblocks my family is faced with. It is people like you that make it possible for students who are willing but not always able to progress in higher education and their subsequent life goals. Ellie Martin, Propeller Club Scholarship Recipient, Academic Year 2013-2014 Establishing a scholarship to help students is an investment in the future that will profit everyone. I can think of no greater gift. Vassilios Katsos, PIERCE 1991, President, Pharmathen ALBA I have heard that dreams come true, and always smiled mockingly, because I thought that this was not feasible. ALBA has proven me wrong and given me a life chance opportunity which I will utilize as much as possible. Amanda Nikitopoulou, ALBA & Kariera.gr Scholarship, Academic Year 2013-2014 7
