If you need to pick up your child in aftercare, please do not park in front of the school or in the handicap parking spaces. Please pull into the parking lot and proceed into the building to pick up your child. PAGE 2 The First Grade Post Office is back just in time for Valentine s Day! Students and parents are welcome to stop by the front foyer to purchase stamps, envelopes, and stationary. The Post Office hours are 7:30am to 8:20am starting Monday, February 9, 2015 and will run until the end of February. All that is needed on each piece of mail is the name, grade of the student the letter is for and, of course, a stamp needs to be purchased. Stamps, envelopes, and stationary are $0.10 each piece. All proceeds will be given to Pennies for Peru. HAPPY WRITING! Health: Did you know... The St. Jude Math-A-Thon continues this month. Students are encouraged to complete the math workbooks that were distributed last week and collect donations to benefit St. Jude Children s Research Hospital. Donations may be submitted to Ms. Rayhel in the library until March 20th. We appreciate your continued support of this wonderful program. Thank you!! Also, the class who collects the most donations will win an ice cream social as a thank you! - Children who eat breakfast do better in school, have better concentration, and have more energy. - Skipping breakfast is more likely to cause weight gain. - Children who eat breakfast are generally in better health overall. PAGE 3 St. Francis of Assisi PTO News Silent Auction Donations for April 28th The PTO will hold its annual Silent Auction on Tuesday, April 28 th. The PTO welcomes donations from our St. Francis families for the Silent Auction. Please identify the value of your donated item(s) and its value will go towards your family fundraising fee. Silent Auction items can be brought to the school office at any time until Friday, April 17 th. Please clearly mark the item(s) as Silent Auction donation and ensure that your family name is labeled on the item. This will ensure that you receive the proper credit. The PTO would like to thank our Hospitality Chairs, Mrs. Gardner and Mrs. Sasaki for helping us show the teachers and staff how grateful we are. Science Fair judges needed for February 18th The Middle School Science Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18 th. It will be after the mass from 10:00am 12:00pm and 3:00pm 4:00pm. Science Fair judges are needed. Previous experience or a science background is not required.
