Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme is aimed at enabling the target group to develop in them skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding to make teaching and learning more effective. NIOS has designed and developed Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Programme in ODL mode for un-trained in-service teachers at elementary level. All untrained Teachers appointed on or before 10 th August 2017 are eligible for the NIOS D.El.Ed prog. The D.El.Ed course of NIOS is approved by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). About 12 Lakhs untrained in service teachers have registered with NIOS for D.El.Ed course all over India.

The SWAYAMPRABHA is a group of 32 DTH channels dedicated to telecast of high quality educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the GSAT 15 satellite. Every day, theree will be new content which would be repeated many times the same day, allowing the students to choose the time of their convenience. Under SWAYAMPRABHA DTH Vagda Channel No. 32 is dedicated to Teacher Education and is available for the learners. The Set up required to receivee SWAYAM Prabha Television channels is same as that required to receive Doordarshan DD Free Dish DTH channels. The antennaa (dish) and Set Top Box for receiving Doordarshan DTH channels are freely available in the market for around Rs. 1500/. Also if you are a subscriber of Dish TV (ZEE) you can receive SWAYAM Prabha TV Channels using the same Set Top Box. Through the app the teacher can access all the important information, study material, audio and video and the dled web portal. The study materials are available in nine Regional Languages Telugu, Assamese, Gujrati, Kannad, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Bengali, Punjabi besides Hindi and English. The App will help the teachers in accessing the study materials anywhere anytime for consumption of the course as per the timeline. Mukta Vidya Vani (MVV) Mukta Vidya Vani (MVV) is the unique Educational Web Radio in India and pioneering initiative of the National Institute of open Schooling (NIOS) for using streaming audio for educational purposes and part of the largest Open schooling in The World. The Mukta Vidya Vani is an internet based platform where audio services from NIOS are streamed 24x7. Live Programmes by experts are broadcast on MVV. The live programme is interactive and the teachers can ask questions/query from the expert through telephone and through online chat. The schedule of the MVV programme is available on the MVV portal of NIOS at www.nios.ac.in. Repeat broadcast of the live programme is done on 24X7 basis. The teacher needs a computer with external speakers and an internet broadband connection to log on. It can also be accessed on Mobile as the portal is mobile responsive. NIOS dled Web portal NIOS has developed a web portal as dled.nios.ac.in for the untrained teachers for registration and access to all information including study materials text in PDF format, audio and video.
On the portal there is a link of Study materials at the top menu bar as illustrated above. It contains links for Printed Materials, Programme Guide and SWAYAM MOOCs. The programme Guide and study materials are available nine Regional Languages Telugu, Assamese, Gujrati, Kannad, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Bengali, Punjabi besides Hindi and English. The teachers registered for the course can login and download the course materials for study purpose. NIOS through this platform cater all information to the learners by updating it from time to time.
