Academic Programs Financial Assistance GSP is a premier graduate school for global-minded students who seek professional knowledge of economics, business, or development cooperation in the international community. Our school pursues academic excellence through its outstanding faculty, competitive and culturally diverse students, interactive and practical education, and collaborative programs with its partner schools. International Trade and Economic Cooperation (IT & EC) As the trend of globalization progresses, trade-related problems are of critical concern in the international arena. These problems are evident in the bilateral and multilateral negotiations on trade-related issues that take place all over the world. Under these circumstances, economic policies can be effective only when they are considered from the international dimension. This program is designed to educate students about international trade and the various international economic cooperation programs and institutions. This program trains specialists to a high standard, equipping them with the professional knowledge of the international scene as it relates to trade and economic cooperation. Various scholarships are available to both Korean and international students. These scholarships and assistantships (together with other forms of finaical assistance) form the basis of the GSP financial assistance policy whereby approximately 40% of the total tuition is provided to students as financial aid to defray expenses. The scholarships, however, are granted to students who have exhibited academic excellence. In the case of the first semester, the amount of the scholarship is based on the evaluation record of the applicant. From the second semester on, the amount of scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee based on the student s academic performance in the previous semester. Only students with an official English test score of over 850 TOEIC or equivalent are eligible to receive a scholarship. International Business (IB) The international economy of today offers unprecedented opportunities and challenges. To meet these challenges, corporations must develop a cadre of experts who possess a deep understanding of global issues as well as a command of core business skills. The IB program mainly concentrates on three disciplines finance, marketing, and organizational behavior in international environments. The principles of management are common across countries; however, competitive management expertise can be obtained only by understanding how those principles are applied in the global business environments as well as multinational companies. International Development Cooperation (IDC) The IDC Department of GSP was established in 2008 as the first postgraduate program in Korea to promote interdisciplinary teaching and research on effective international assistance for developing countries. The course is dedicated to both theory and praxis, enhancing not only the academic knowledge of development and underdevelopment but also the practical skills of development project management and consulting. The professors have considerable experience in working in the developing world as well as for international organizations, and are deeply engaged in policy-relevant research and consultancy work. Students upon graduation have successfully found employment in a wide variety of governmental, academic and private organizations.
