The Financial Rewards go a long way At UT Martin, we ve designed our Honors Programs to allow outstanding students the opportunity to be challenged and motivated in the pursuit of an academic degree. When you qualify, the financial rewards really go a long way in covering your educational expenses, unlike many programs at other schools.

Students must have a 3.3 GPA at the end of the spring semester, participate in a special 10-semester-hour curriculum for University Scholar students and be active in extra-curricular activities including group community service, cultural activities and service to the student organization in order to continue in the program. Students who successfully complete the program graduate with the distinction of University Scholar on their diplomas. To apply, turn in a University Scholars application and attend the Scholars Prospect Weekend. Scholarship application deadline: February 1 This scholarship requires an additional application. Call 731-881-7436 or go to utm.edu/honors for more information. Every year, a select group of 15 first-year students embarks on a journey that takes them into a world of exploration. Your University Scholars experience begins with weekly roundtable discussions about interdisciplinary topics, followed by a servicelearning project developed by your classmates. Your sophomore year is spent in a reading/discussion course centered on a wide variety of topics, followed by time spent preparing for your research project. During your junior year, you will partner with a distinguished professor on campus who will mentor you through a two-year project, co-designed by you and your mentor. In the end, you will have a published report of your project and the satisfaction of accomplishing such a significant task. Throughout the process, you will be part of the University Scholars Organization, the student social arm of the program. USO members are involved in social events, fundraising, community service and even trips to far-away locations, if you so choose. USO cultivates a close-knit group of high-performing students who are dedicated to success in all areas of life. Office of Undergraduate Admissions 731-881-7020 1
