Context: EU Ukraine Association Agreement CULTURE ARTICLE 437 The Parties shall undertake to promote cultural cooperation in order to enhance mutual understanding and foster cultural exchanges, as well as to boost the mobility of art and artists from the EU and Ukraine. ARTICLE 438 The Parties shall encourage intercultural dialogue between the individuals and organisations representing organised civil society and cultural institutions in the EU and in Ukraine.
Programme Objectives To promote cultural cooperation and intercultural dialogue between Ukraine and the EU To build capacity of the cultural sectors and creative industries in Ukraine To enhance Ukraine s participation in Creative Europe projects To promote mutual understanding and cultural diversity within Ukraine
Expected Results EU Ukraine cultural dialogue established Creative industries grow the capacity to develop cultural projects Institutions successfully participate in the Creative Europe programme The level of tolerance in Ukrainian society increases Cultural diversity is preserved and further developed Internal cultural dialogue promotes internal cohesion within Ukraine
Activities At least 60 international mobility grants to increase cultural mobility between Ukraine and EU At least 21 international cooperation projects developed between institutions in Ukraine and EU At least 15 national cooperation projects to increase cultural mobility between the regions of Ukraine
Activities (continued) Cultural management: 10 workshops to develop the project management capacity of around 250 emerging/regional cultural operators in Ukraine, and funding for 20 cultural projects Creative Europe support: organisation of 10 workshops (250 participants) across Ukraine to enhance application development skills for Creative Europe, and organisation of 2 study visits to the EU 5 joint EUNIC cultural projects in Ukraine
Mobility Projects (1 2 or 3 4 weeks duration) Exchange visits for cultural professionals to attend conferences, networking events, fora and other events related to culture and/or the creative industries Working attachments with cultural/creative organisations in EU/Ukraine
Cooperation Projects Raise awareness of the importance of culture for economic development and social cohesion Stimulate greater participation in cultural activities by the general public Encourage cooperation between CSOs, public and private sector organisations Develop the knowledge and capacity of operators Engage under-represented or marginalised groups in cultural activity Explore diversity and promote intercultural dialogue through cultural activity
Target Groups Cultural operators and institutions operating at national, regional and local levels in Ukraine and in the EU: Public and private cultural institutions Young artists, creators and cultural entrepreneurs Community leaders and influencers Local civil society organisations (CSOs) Educational institutions (private and public) and their managers Local government departments of culture
