Summary of LPG Profile The salient points of LPG marketing as brought out in the LPG Profile for the period April- September 2017 (i.e. as on 1 st October 2017) are as under:- 1. PSU OMCs (IOCL, BPCL and HPCL) together have 25.38 crore customers registered with them out of which 25.11 crore customers are in the domestic category. Nearly 44.7% of total registered domestic customers have double bottle connections (DBC). All these customers are being served by OMCs through 19,223 LPG distributors. Out of 25.11 crore registered domestic customers, 21.40 crore customers are active customers. The LPG coverage of the country estimated on the basis of active domestic connections and estimated household is around 77.8%. 2. PSU OMCs have a total of 189 LPG bottling plants all over India with rated bottling capacity of around 16.5 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA). 3. PSU OMCs sold nearly 9.8 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of packed domestic LPG during April- September 2017. 4. As on 30.9.2017, approximately 168.2 lakh new domestic customers have been enrolled by PSU OMCs during April-September 2017 out of which 96.7 lakh were enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). To cater to the increased customer base, 437 distributorships were added by PSU OMCs during April-September 2017. 5. PSU OMCs have a total of 677 Auto LPG Dispensing Stations all over India for catering to LPG demand in the automotive sector.
