EDUSAVE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD FOR PRIMARY 5 STUDENTS (TOP 5%) (Top 5% Edusave Scholarship Award) Jerome Ong from Ai Tong Primary School has been awarded the 2004 Edusave Scholarship by Dr. Balaji Sadasivan, Minister of State for Health and Information, Communications and the Arts and Adviser to Cheng San CCC. Jerome joined SLC when he was in K1. He is still at the Centre for all his courses. He has all along been one of the top students in his school.

(Top 5% Edusave Scholarship Award) Bryan Kuah from Maris Stella Primary School joined SLC when he was in Pri.1. He is now at the Centre for his Pri. 6 lessons. Brother Dexter is also attending his Pri. 3 lessons here. (Top 5% Edusave Scholarship Award) Michelle Fung a student in the best class in Rosyth School, topped her class in Primary 5 last year. Michelle is currently attending her English Creative Writing classes at SLC. Brother Derick in Primary one is also coming to SLC for his lessons. (Top 5% Edusave Scholarship Award) Shirley Ling comes all the way from Ang Mo Kio to attend all her courses. She is working hard to pass her PSLE well to get into one of the top secondary schools.

Being an excellent student, she always tops in her class. With much confidence in Ivalyn, her sister Ivana is also at SLC for her Pri. 1 Eng./Maths and English Creative Writing classes. (Top 10% Edusave Scholarship Award) Marcus Yeo a Xin Min School student joined SLC when he was in Primary 1. After that he left the Centre to go to the States. He came back when he was in Primary 4 to join most of the courses at the Centre. He is currently attending his Pri. 6 Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing Courses. (Top 10% Edusave Scholarship Award) Loo Kah Eng from Rosyth Primary School joined SLC when she was in Pri. 1. She is currently attending her Pri. 6 Eng./Maths/Science and English Creative Writing Classes. Her two brothers are also passing well and are at the Centre for most of the courses.

(Top 10% Edusave Scholarship Award) Lim Cheng Lin a student from Seng Kang Primary School joined SLC when she was in K2. She is still at the Centre for her Pri. 6 Eng/Maths/ Science courses. Her sister is also in the Centre for her Pri.1 Eng/Maths and Reading classes. (Top 10% Edusave Scholarship Award) Norman Tan from Seng Kang Primary School joined SLC when he was in Pri. 3. He is currently at the Centre for his Pri. 6 Eng./Maths/Science and English Creative Writing Classes.

Brother Yan Cheng from Victoria Secondary School is currently attending his Sec. 3 Essay Writing Class here. Their sister Yun Ting is also here for her Pri. 4 lessons. (Top 10% Edusave Scholarship Award) Chew Jing Rui a student from Catholic High School joined SLC when he was in K2. He is attending his Pri. 6 Eng/Maths/ Science, Chinese and both English and Chinese Creative Writing courses. Putting in so much effort and sacrifice in coming to the Centre, he is really determined to get to a good Secondary School after his PSLE. (Top 10% Edusave Scholarship Award) Edmund Tan Siow Siang from Xin Min Primary School came to SLC when he was in Primary 2. He is now at the Centre for his Primary 6 courses.

SOME OF OUR PRIMARY 1 TO PRIMARY 4 TOP ACHIEVERS Malcom Leow Wei Sheng has been attending lessons at SLC since 2003 when he was in Primary 1. Last year he was 1 st in his class in Serangoon Garden South School. He s currently attending the Pri. 3 English/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing Courses. Terence Ong Zi Xuan, a student from Rosyth School was fourth in Primary 2 last year. He joined SLC when he was in K1. He is currently attending his Pri. 2 Eng./ Maths/Science & English Creative Writing classes. Sister Adeline has also been passing well and through her good result, she was transferred to Rosyth School from Zhong Hua Primary. She s also attending all the courses at SLC. Lim Shuen Han started to come to SLC for lessons in May 2002 when she was in Kindergarten 2. She was second in her Pri. 2 class in Holy Innocents Primary School last year. She is currently attending the P3 Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing courses.

Charlene Yeo Keng Teng a student from Rosyth School was second in Primary 4 last year. Her sister, Jermaine a Primary 1 pupil also wants to pass with flying colours. She is now attending her English/ Maths course at SLC. Charlene is currently attending her Pri. 5 Eng/Maths/Science course. Andrea Tan Mei Fei from Rosyth School was second in Primary 2 last year. She is currently attending her Pri. 3 Eng./Maths/Science, English Creative Writing and Chinese Classes at SLC. Twin sister, Bernice and elder sister, Joe are also having their classes here. Yeo Wee Kian was second in Primary 5 in Seng Kang Primary School last year. He joined SLC when he was in Pri. 3. Now at the Centre, he s attending his Pri. 6 Eng./Maths/Science and English Creative Writing classes.

Yeo Wee Kong the twin brother of Wee Kian was first in Primary 5 last year. Like his brother, he is also attending all the Pri. 6 Courses at SLC. Len Hong Jun a student from St. Andrews joined SLC when he was in Kindergarten Two. He was third in class in Primary 2 last year. He is here for his Pri. 3 Eng./Maths/Science, English Creative Writing and Comprehension Classes. Lee Hong Yi s sister passed very well in her PSLE last year and is now in Nanyang Girls. Hong Yi himself was 3 rd in Primary 4 in Rosyth School last year. He is currently attending the Pri. 5 Eng./Maths/Science and English Creative Writing courses.

James Toh Jing Lun from Xin Min Primary School was 2 nd in his Primary 2 class last year. He is still attending the Pri. 3 Eng./Maths/Science and English Creative Writing classes. Lim Ming Hui from Jing Shan Primary School was 2 nd in Primary 2 last year. She is currently attending her Pri. 3 English/Maths/ Science course at SLC. Chong Sze Siang from Rosyth School was 4 th in Primary 2 last year. He is now attending the Pri. 3 Eng./Maths/Science and Pri. 3 Chinese courses. His brother Sze Miang is also attending his Pri.1 Eng./Maths and Chinese courses. Sze Sin, their sister is also coming to the Centre for her K2 Reading Programme.

Cheng Yan Ning from Zhong Hua Primary School was 4 th in Pri. 3 last year. She is currently attending her Pri. 4 Eng/Maths/Science and Chinese Creative Writing courses. Her brother Yi Yang is also attending the Pri.1 English Creative Writing class. Leng Ee Ian from Yio Chu Kang Primary School was 3 rd in Primary 3 last year. He is currently attending his Pri. 4 English/Maths/ Science, English and Chinese Creative Writing classes. Brother Ee Jan is also attending his Pri. 1 Chinese and English Creative Writing classes. James Lee from Hougang Primary School was 1 st in class and 4 th in level in Pri. 1 last year. He is still here for his Pri. 2 Eng./Maths classes. Sister Jasmine, in the top 5% of the Pri. 5 cohort in her school is also here for her Pri. 6 English/ Maths/Science and English Creative Writing classes.

Rachel Er Sheng Tian from Pei Chun Primary School has made tremendous improvement through the courses at SLC. From a position of 90+ in level, she managed to reach 11 th in level when she was in Pri. 2 last year. She comes all the way from Toa Payoh to attend her Pri. 3 Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing classes. Brother Jeremiah is also here for his Pri.2 Eng/Maths/ and English Creative Writing classes. Both girls are from Rosyth School. Jacey Ong (left) was 2 nd and Tan Rong Ying was 4 th in class last year. They are now attending the Pri. 2 Eng./Maths and English Creative Writing classes. Jacey is also having her Chinese lessons here. Low Zheng Yu from Jing Shan Primary School was 2 nd in class last year. He is having his Pri. 3 Eng/Maths /Science lesson at SLC this year.

Cherlynn Ng Yun Ting joined SLC in May 2002 for her Pri.1 Eng/Maths and English Creative Writing classes. She was 3 rd in Primary 3 last year. With her good results, she has been transferred from Hougang Primary School to Rosyth School. She s here for all her courses this year. Ivan Huang Yen Wen from Kuo Chuan Primary School came to Singapore in July 2003 with brother Paddy Huang Pin Wen from Taiwan. Both could not read and understand English well. In 2003, Ivan joined SLC for his Pri. 1 English/Maths and English Creative Writing courses. Lacking confidence in his English, he also joined his brother Paddy in our K2 Reading Programme to improve his recognition of words. In 2004, Ivan was 2 nd in class while brother Paddy was promoted from the 8 th to the 5 th best class in his school. Ivan is currently attending his Pri. 3 Eng./Maths/Science, English Creative Writing and Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension courses. Paddy is attending his Pri. 2 Eng/Maths, English Creative Writing and Grammar/Vocabulary and Comprehension courses. Their sister Belle Huang Ching Wen is also at the Centre now for her K2 Reading Programme. Lee Wei Ren a pupil from Rosyth School joined SLC when he was in Primary 1. He was 2 nd in class last year. His three other siblings, Yi Ren, You Ren and Shu Ren are also attending lessons at the Centre. They are also doing very well in their studies.

Juline Han a pupil from Ai Tong School joined SLC when was in Primary 1. She was second in her class last year. She is still at the Centre for her lessons. Kelvin Yap a student of Rosyth School was 1 st in class last year. He is still at the Centre for his Primary 2 lessons. Melissa Phua a student from Rosyth School was 2 nd in class last year. She still comes to the Centre for her Primary 2 lessons.

Sophia Yew joined SLC when she was in K2. Last year, she was 2 nd in class in Rosyth School. She is still at the Centre for most of the English and Chinese Courses. Jeremy Tian a student from Rosyth School was 2 nd in class last year. His two other siblings, Daniel and May are also at the Centre to attend their Primary and Secondary courses. Jeremy is now attending his Pri. 2 Eng/Maths and English Creative Writing Courses. Lee Wen Qiang a student in the Gifted programme in Rosyth School joined SLC in 2001. He attended both the English and Chinese Creative Courses. He was 1 st in class and level last year. He is still coming to the Centre for his Pri. 5 lessons. Samuel Soo Kuok Heng used to be a student from Zhonghua Primary School. He joined the Centre in 2002 for his Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing Courses. He was 1 st in class and level last year and is now at Rosyth School for his Gifted programme. He is still coming to the Centre for both his English and Chinese Creative Writing courses. His sister, Angeline is also here for her Sec. 1 Essay Writing Course.

Yeo Bei Ting a pupil from Townsville Primary School joined SLC when she was in Pri. 1. She was 3 rd in class when she was in Pri. 2 last year. She is now attending her Pri. 3 Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing classes at the Centre. Benjamin Fong joined SLC when he was in K2. A Pri. 3 pupil from Rosyth School, he was 2 nd in class last year. He is now in the best class in his school. He is currently attending his Pri. 3 Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing courses at the Centre. Justin Jang Jin Hao, a student from Hougang Primary School was first in class in Primary 4 last year. He is still at the Centre for his Primary 5 Eng/Maths/Science and English Creative Writing Courses. His sister, Denise is also attending her Pri. 3 Eng/Math/ Science lessons at the Centre. Kay Quan Yu, currently a Primary Four pupil in Catholic High joined SLC when he was in Primary One. He comes all the way from Bishan to attend his courses here. He was third in class and third in level last year.

SOME OF OUR PRIMARY 6 TOP ACHIEVERS IN 2004 Edwin Ang joined SLC when he was in Pri. 4. Owing to his tremendous improvement and excellent result yearly, his sister Kristy is also having her lessons at the Centre. With a good command of English, he was able to excel in most of his other subjects. His good PSLE score has got him into Hwa Chong Institution and he is still coming here for his Sec.1 Essay Writing Course. Wen Hui, an ex Ai Tong pupil travelled all the way from Thomson to SLC for all her English, Maths, Science and English Creative Writing courses. She has scored well in her PSLE that she is now in Cedar Girls School. Sister, Wen Jing is following her footstep. Going through all the courses at SLC this year, she aims to go to a top school like RGS or Nanyang Girls.

Lim Qin Ying an ex Tao Nan student is a role model to his brother, Jia Ying. He scored well in his PSLE through the course at SLC. His brother is following his footstep here and hopes to get an excellent score this year. Merri used to rush all the way from Hougang to SLC for all her courses and her efforts paid off. She passed tremendously well in her PSLE and she is still here for her Essay Writing Class despite her hectic schedule in her school.

Joey an ex Ai Tong pupil has been a student at SLC since Primary 3. Her siblings are also here for their lessons. Joey still believes in brushing up her English through the Essay Writing course for Sec. 1 students at the Centre. Ho Zhexuan an ex Rosyth School student has been a student at SLC since Primary 4. Through his excellence in the English Language, he has done well in all the other subjects in his PSLE. Now a student at Hwa Chong Institution, he is still here for his Essay Writing Class. Sister, Jia Ning, an RGS girl is also here for her Sec. 2 Essay Writing Class.

Mavis Cheng started her tuition classes at SLC at a tender age of Primary 1. She did well in her PSLE and she is still here for her Essay Writing Class. Lynette Goh attended the Primary 6 English Creative Writing class at the Centre every Saturday without fail. Having mastered well in her writing techniques, she scored an excellent A* in her English in the PSLE. Brother Royson Goh is also currently attending his classes at the Centre.

Jarred an ex student of Rosyth School, started to come to SLC when he was in Primary 5. He scored well in the PSLE and is still here for his Essay Writing Course. Patricia started to come to SLC when she was in Primary 3 through a holiday intensive class. Having learnt a lot through the holiday class she continued the class in our normal programme. Her effort paid off when she scored exceedingly well in her PSLE and despite her hectic schedule at Nanyang Girls, she still comes here for her Sec. 1 Essay Writing Class. Brother Wei Han aspires to be like his sister. He is here also for most of the courses.

Wei Li an ex Nanyang Primary School student did well in her PSLE and is now at Nanyang Girls. She started her courses at SLC when she was in Primary 3. Sister Wei Han, a Cedar Girls student is here for her Secondary Essay Writing and Maths Courses, and brother Tian Zhao a gifted pupil at Nanyang Primary School is also here. Poh Lian an ex neighbourhood pupil did well in her PSLE. She has been coming to SLC for her courses and her sister, Lisa is also here to attend her lessons to pass as well as her sister.

Through the invaluable lessons at SLC, Ray has a distinctive command of English that enables him to excel in all the other subjects. His result in his PSLE is commendable and his brother Shawn wishes to do as well as him. He also wants to achieve a remarkable score by attending his classes at SLC. Manfred Lum an ex Maris Stella pupil has been attending classes at SLC since Primary 3. He scored well in the PSLE and is still here for his Essay Writing Course.

Ng Han Yuan joined SLC when he was in Primary 1. With the help of the Centre s English Creative Writing Course, he scored an A* in his English. His good command of English has also enabled him to do very well in all the other subjects. He s now in Raffles Institution.
