DISPENSATION In an effort to facilitate and increase local and state membership in the affiliated higher degrees working under The Most Worshipful Sons of Light Grand Lodge A.F.&A.M. Jurisdiction of California, the following dispensation is hereby granted for the period beginning February 1, 2014 to April 30, 2014: A. During dispensation period, suspend Edict #2013-02 only for those members interested in obtaining their Inspector Generals or Rose of Seven Seals Degree during the 2016 Supreme Session to be held in California, B. All 2016 Inspector Generals or Rose of Seven Seals candidates MUST be fully initiated into all qualifying degrees no later than May 1, 2015, A. You must make a final decision on where your local membership will be housed no later than July 31, 2014. Should this date pass each respective Grand Department head has the right to place you on the membership of the house of their choice. Q. Can I still come out as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General or Rose of Seven Seals candidate if I miss this dispensation period? A. Maybe. This will be determined by the Most Worshipful Grand Master. Q. Where can I find used or discounted regalia? A. Check ebay or ask senior members of this jurisdiction. C. All 2016 Inspector Generals or Rose of Seven Seals candidates MUST participate in and complete a School of Instruction facilitated by the respective higher degree Grand Department Heads, under the supervision of Rose Dorothy Covington for the Rose candidate(s) and Bro. Omar Scaife, 33 for the Inspector candidate(s),
Q. What if I was one a member of all the higher degree houses but for whatever reason have been dropped from the membership. Can I take advantage of this dispensation to reinstate into those houses? A. NO! You must reinstate officially into those houses by paying what you owe them. Q. If I later decide not to come out as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General or Rose of Seven Seals can I remain a member of houses I chose? A. Yes, but you will be assessed the 2014 initiation fee you normally would have paid to the respective house(s). Q. What if I have an emergency that prevents me from adhering to the requirements, will I be prevented from coming out as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General or Rose of Seven Seals? A. Maybe. Each situation will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Q. How long do I have to decide which local house, court, temple, council, etc. to join? D. The flat initiation fee for all 2016 Sovereign Grand Inspector Generals candidates will be $75.00, E. The flat initiation fee for all 2016 Rose of Seven Seals candidates will be $55.00, F. The above rate(s) DOES NOT include the Inspector Generals or Rose of Seven Seals initiation fee but will permit the respective candidate admittance into all qualifying higher degree departments for the purposes of receiving their Inspector Generals or Rose of Seven Seals Degree, G. All candidates, at their own expense, MUST obtain their uniform / regalia required for each degree obtained, prior to advancing to the next degree, H. Any candidate failing to comply with the above requirements will be required to remit the nondiscounted local / state fee to each initiated department before being permitted to proceed to Inspector Generals or Rose of Seven Seals degree.

Most Worshipful Grand Master reserves the right to place a candidate on the membership roll of a local house should candidate and/or respective Grand Department Head fail to select a local house after being initiating in that respective degree SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS In an effort to assist you in scheduling which upper houses meet your schedule preference, please see the below list of meetings: 9. All Sovereign Grand Inspector General and Rose of Seven Seals candidates MUST pay local dues in all degrees received beginning immediately after being obligated in said degree, 10. Any candidate failing to meet any of the above requirements, thus becoming ineligible to receive the degree of Sovereign Grand Inspector General or Rose of Seven Seals, will be assessed the current 2014 initiation fees of the house of which they desire to remain members.
