Welcome to the Corsica-Stickney School for the 2017-18 School year. I would like to welcome everyone to the Corsica-Stickney School for 2017-18 school year. I hope that each and every one of you had an enjoyable summer break. It is with much enthusiasm that we anticipate a successful school year for our Corsica-Stickney Community. Many tasks have been undertaken this summer to improve the school for students as we enter the new school year. A few of the improvements are: The Elementary students will have new Social Studies curriculum while the High School students will have new curriculum in the area of US History, Accounting and Art. All the school buildings have new energy efficient LED lighting along with the high school building having new carpet with fresh paint in many rooms. Students, I wish to say this is done for you and we hope you enjoy and take care of the improvements, so they may last for many years and many future Jaguars. We have also purchased an additional bus to replace the oldest bus in the fleet and will be replacing the chiller tower in the high school. The elementary building in Stickney has received some new step covers along with some of the old heating units removed with some ceiling tiles being replaced. The Grade school gym in Corsica received a new roof and ceiling. We have also improved the track/football area with a new scoreboard/track timing device courtesy of Coke and new hurdles courtesy of Noteboom Implement. Also you will notice a patio extending to the track from the concession stand with picnic tables. As we move forward into our new school year we begin by looking at the end. Our goals: 100 % graduation rate. All students achieving success in academics and activities. We desire students collectively to score above the state average on the smarter balance tests. We encourage students as you prepare for your future to take full advantage the excellent educational opportunities provided by the Corsica-Stickney Community. Best of luck to 2017-18 Jaguar Community.
