POINT TO NOTE Every member of AsPac SGF Region has the opportunity to achieve his/her fullest potential by being part of our activities and actions. We are further providing an opportunity to participate in workshop Regional Development Plan to be held in KL Malaysia from 20 to 22 Jan 2017 and contribute to all aspects of regional growth. We are inviting only key leaders for the workshop and many of our friends like to contribute their ideas please in box your ideas on our Face Book is Isgf Apr or email us. This is 15 th Quarterly Update - with active participation in 2 main regional events of APR WAGGGS & APR WOSM, we are moving towards a Regional Development Plan in accordance with Vision 2024 of AsPac SGF Committee. Asia Pacific Scout & Guide Fellowship AsPac SGF Committee Highlights AsPac SGF Finances meeting was held in Chennai India attended by Tresurer Gunaseelan & Secretary General Mecci on 30th August 2016. They discussed and updated the account records, the auditing is being processed. They also finalised the proposed workshop to be held in KL on 21 and 22 Jan 2017. Position Discription to Consultant to AsPac SGF Committee Mr. Abdulla Rasheed, Chief Trustee of AsPac SGF Foundation Mr. Brian Jackson and Coordinator of Regional Development Mr. Greg Davies were issued with due approval from the committee members and chairman. The drafts were submitted by Ms. Margaret Blake of Australia NSGF as per discussion held in Maldives Meet and we have also got the acknowledgment from 2 members, Greg Davies yet to acknowledge. AsPac SGF Foundation updates - With the AsPac Foundation now up, running and registration process is on, it is important that all NSGF members are aware that we require funds to achieve our goal of having a balance of US 25000 in 4 years time. This can only be achieved if all members support the foundation with donations achieved through fundraising or Corporate sponsorship. We have about 18% of our total to date and we have a long way to go to reach our goal so please ensure that a big effort is made by all countries before our next committee meeting in New Zealand in March 2017 by Brian Jackson Further as promised by Ms. Fatimah Ibrahim first lady of Maldives (wife of President) 1000 US $ was transfered to AsPac SGF account towords foundation on 8th August 2016. Ms. Gulisthan Shatir Director AsPac SGF Foundation played a key role to get the said contribution. Regional Devolopment Plan as per the outline set in Maldives Meet, Greg Davies has submitted guidelines and by discussing on line Greg Davies, Aamal Ali and Mecci have set an objectives for the workshop proposed at KL. Further session plan and key speakers have to be nominated. We have also sent a proposal about the workshop to ISGF World Bureau to release the funds earmarked for the same. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS WOSM/ APR - 5th ASEAN JAMBOREE - OUR PARTICIPATION - Two members from Indian SGF Shudhanshu Shekar & Salima Dawdani joined the Jamboree to promote AsPac SGF and ran a AsPac Region, JULY SEPTEMBER 2016 Page 1 of 6

booth for complete 5 days period from 15 to 20 September 2016. We are glad to inform you that we did successfully promotion campaign at 5th Asean Jamboree Terengganu. We started our work with assistant leader salima dawdani, we performed our duty as representative of AsPac from Dadra & Nagar Haveli Scout & Guide Fellowship India. Initially,AsPac got separate booth to promote SGF at various level we promoted the objective and mission of AsPac to all participants and leaders who were present there,additionally we had explained them about national and international work done by SGF, we conveyed the message that they can join the SGF after the age of 25 and continue their service for the same. We distributed AsPac pamphlets, literature, handbills and broacher s to promote the same. The chief dignitaries has visited to our counter the AsPac Consultant Mr. Abdullah Rasheed with his team. They appreciated our job, and encouraged us to keep up doing the good service. We met different contingent scouts, we were touched with their performances and that had motivated us to perform as well We performed at the event of international cultural night, we enjoyed throughly. Being AsPac representative we also interacted with electronic and print media regarding the causes and benefits of Internet usage, We shared my experience so far we have achieved. On the last day,closing ceremony AsPac had given momento to jamboree chief TAN SRI DATO' SERI PADUKA DR. HJ. SHAFIE B. HJ. MOHD SALLEH Ketua Pengakap Negara and TAN SRI DATO' HAJI ABDULLAH BIN HAJI TAIB Bendahari, Majis Pengakap Malaysia (National Treasurer) and all guest who had present over there to felicitate the contingents with momentos. We felt supportive with Mr. Amir Hon secretary who treated us nicely,and during the ceremony we distributed the pamphlets. Special thanks to the President of B.P Guild Malaysia Mr.Gunaseelan and Ms. Brenda Gunaseelan they played a tremendous role from the beginning they made us felt like a family so we thank them from our core of the heart. We also participated with the team of MESSENGER OF PEACE. Last but not the least..a huge thank you to Makki sir it would have not possible without you..we look forward for the opportunity to serve more and more. Report by Sudhanshu Shekhar WAGGGS / APR 12 APR WAGGGS Conference - 2016 Nepal AsPac SGF represented ISGF in the said conference lead by Munira B Mistry & Dayang Mariani Abang-Zain - On 28 th August 2016 on arrival at Airport team of volunteers welcomed with garland and drove to hotel YAK &YETI conference venue. Registration was done, Received haversack with T shirt. welcome dinner was organised. It was well organised. Followed by orientation for the conference. First group we met Bangladesh and India. On 29th opening ceremony. Seat was allotted in second row as guest. President of Nepal Lady did inauguration. Followed by lunch. 1)countries presented success story of their growth. Report Munira Mistry -)---------(0)---------(- NEWS FROM AsPac CORNERS Australia NSGF - The NSGFA Executive Committee has been engaged in checking the AsPac constitution; planning our Annual General Meeting to be held in November 2016. The NSGFA paid their fees to ISGF in June for a total of 2580 members being for Trefoil Guild Members 2117; BP Guild Members 440; St George Guild members 23. Activities: Australian Trefoil Guild are raising funds and donating items to a World Wide organisation Days for Girls during 2016. Rhonda Brodie and Decima Miller have recently returned from Purple Head East the Canadian National Gathering held at Newfoundland. NSW: Brisbane Water Trefoil Guild donated $200.00 plus two knitted blankets to Ronald McDonale Family Room at the Gosford Hospital. Irene Kerry a well-known member of the NSGFA recently received her 70 years of adult service to Guides Victoria. Trefoil Members are donation funds to the Friends of the Asia Pacific WAGGGS to assist Fiji and Kiribati. BP Guilds continue to fund raise for Community Charities. St George Guild continues Friends of Adlington House which contains Scouting and Girl Guide memorabilia. Bangladesh NSGF Organised Rally Against Terrorism & Aid Distribution to Flood Affected Victims. The NSGF also organised condolence meeting in memory of Late Mohammed Khalique. Indian SGF Indian SGF NHQ organised following event and celebrations in Ahmedabad Gujarat from 16 to 18 September 2016 and hosted by Gujarat State SGF with complete support by The Bharat Scouts & Guides Gujarat State. National Council Meet outgoing council met on 16 th September 2016 AsPac Region, JULY SEPTEMBER 2016 Page 3 of 6

Inaugural session was held at 16.30 hours - with Scout Guide Prayer inauguration took off in many colours of garba depicted by local Guides and welcome address by Savitaben SCC briefing the cultural, heritage and BS&G. The National Gathering began at 18 hours lead by Munira Mistry in which all the participating States / Direct districts SGF s gave their presentations by correlating their presentations with theme Do Your Best. It was amazing experience to see varieties of expositions and being competitive item Special General Assembly began at 9 hours on 17 th September 2016 with Scout and Guide Prayer, With special gratitude s to late Narendra Chadha and other departed souls house stood in silence, Followed by presentations by various reports / updates by various office bearers, items on agenda were discussed / resolved and future of Vision 2020 along with set of activities were finalised. Closing remarks by Justice Kalpesh Jhaveri were short and specific he said nothing can stop the progress of organisation when we have transparency and clear vision, he further re iterated that raising issues again and again which were resolved earlier does not seems to be a healthy way. Next National Council will be held in Khetari Rajasthan in Feb 2017; National General Assembly will be held in Shillong hosted by Meghalaya State SGF during Sept 2017 and same will be promoted as SARRC Gathering and 2 nd Adventure for Adults will be held in Silvassa hosted by DNH SGF. At 14-30 hours Satyanarayan Sharma and Madhu Kalia took central stage to take up main agenda of Special GA they announced unanimously Justice Kalpesh Jhaveri is been re-elected as National President along with new National Council with 80 percentage of new faces. Mecci announced Regional Council for all the 5 regions North, East, West, South and North east it is being introduced on experimental basis and will be ratified when the functioning of councils get streamlined. At 16 hours on same day was memorable day in many aspects Annual Awards for 2016 were presented by National President & others Lakshmi Mazumdar Award for best coordination The Bharat Scouts & Guides Karnataka State (will be presented in Jamboree) Daljit Sen Mahajan Excellence Award for best state Karnataka State SGF Hanslal Singh best active district Gaya District SGF Bihar State SGF Ranga Rao best guild no one qualified in 2016 Narendra Chadha best exposition Award Meghalaya State SGF Jagdamba Jhonston Life time achievement award (Female) Savitaben Patel Pujara & Pushpa Pagar of SCR Justice Hidayathullaha Life time achievement award (Male) Mustafa Pitalwala of Surat & Ajai Bhat of Bhavnagar Gujarat State SGF Charters were presented to all the newly formed and registered Districts / Guild SGF s 100 years of Cub Scouts / Wolf Cubs was held with presence of 50 Cubs from Gujarat & DNH special presentation on fundamentals of Cubing based on Rudyard Kipling s Jungle Book & B P s conceived ideas by Mecci, Indian SGF launched special award in commemoration of 100 years of cubing in the name of Late Kkshayap Pujara who passed away in the age of 31 years and who enjoyed Cubing in Pachmarhi & also attended World Scout Jamboree in London during 2007 as IST. Cake cutting ceremony was organised led by Pushpa Pagar and Seema Rathi to mark 50 years of Sangam & 100 years of Cubing along with members from Birth Day/ anniversary Funds group. Asha Khanna spoke about Sangam and Girl Guiding importance before the ceremony. On the occasion 7 scouts & one leader from Manav Seva Sansthan Ahmedabad were invited and the troop was sponsored by Boy Scouts of Australia International Commissioner (West) Jules Rikkers and his team. Grand Gifting Ceremony was held after the celebrations in which all the Cubs, Bulbuls and Scouts stood in a half circle, all the Indian SGF units who brought special gifts from all over India including AsPac Region, JULY SEPTEMBER 2016 Page 4 of 6

medallions, bags, tea shirts, creative stationery, chocolates and many more were gifted to every child / young people. The second day came to end with Grand Campfire in which Justice Gita Mital joined the event and inaugurated the ceremony. On third day 18 th September 2016, the day began with All faiths prayer, followed by moving towards closing ceremony. ATAS members came together for an official photograph, then many states came up to present and exchange souvenirs, Indian SGF NHQ gave away event mementos to Gujarat State BS&G and SGF also to selected guests. As a final remarks Justice Kalpesh Jhaveri gave out clear signals that Indian SGF stands for its duties to support young Scouts and Guides, as well members of SGF acting with maturity and sincerity whatever they do or support by keeping our fundamentals in view. With National Anthem and group photo the 3 days event came to end. Indonesia NSGF HIPPRADA From 1 to 3 August 2016, Hipprada held its 2016 National Working Meeting at Hotel Treva International, Jakarta. The meeting, which coincided with the celebration of Hipprada s 41 st anniversary, was opened by Hipprada s General Chairman, Prof. Haryono Suyono, and was attended by over 60 representatives from 14 regions. The theme of the meeting was Hipprada Welcoming the 28th ISGF-AISG World Conference 2017. Hipprada s anniversary, on 2 August 2016, was marked by the signing of a noctarial deed certifying Hipprada as a full-fledge legal entity. Opening of Hipprada s 2016 National Working Meeting by General Chairman Prof. Haryono Suyono. Preparation Continues for the 28th ISGF-AISG World Conference 2017 As part of the continuing preparation for the 28th ISGF-AISG World Conference 2017, committee members visited scouts of Bali, the conference venue and other locations that will be used during the conference. Malaysia B P Guild Malaysia - AsPac SGF Com Treasurer & B P Guild of Malaysia Chairman Gunaseelan T along with Mrs. Brenda Gunaseelan were recognised by Indian SGF in Chennai India during their visit. B P Guild Malaysia also facilitated the 2 volunteers who joined 5 th Asean Jamboree from Indian SGF in KL in their transit and in city tour of KL, accomodation and hospitality. Trefoil Guild of Sarawak - Dayang Mariani Abang Zain of Sabha Trefoil Guild attended 12 th APR WAGGGS Conference representing AsPac Region and she gifted Nepal Scouts Chief a souvenir for their museum. Maldivian NSGF Maldives NSGF had their executive meeting in Male on 16 th September 2016 attended by Aaamal Ali, Mariam Waheeda, Ahmed Ali Maniku and others. They planned Fellowship Day plan and activities. Nepal Central Branch (proposed NSGF) Nepal NSGF few volunteers from SGF rendered services during 12 th APR WAGGGS Conference and team of delegation led by President Shreeram joined European SGF Conference. New Zealand SGF - NZSGF Inc. - Annual Trefoil Guild Conference, 75 Members met for a weekend of Meetings, Fun and Fellowship in Wellington, New Zealand in September 2016. Reports were given by the Trefoil Guild Adviser and as Mike Crane (President) was there with his wife Mary he gave a report on the happenings of the NZSGF Inc. Many of the members visited places of interest around Wellington in their spare time on the Saturday. A campfire was held Saturday evening and a Guild s Own on the Sunday. The NZSGF Inc. wish everyone in the AsPac Region a very Happy Fellowship Day on the 25 th October, as we all think of our Scouting and Guiding friends we have met over the years. Sri Lanka (proposed NSGF) CAMP FIRE ORGANISED BY THE TREFOIL GIRL GUIDES SRI LANKA The Campfire Flames of Friendship held on 2 October 2016 at Girl Guide Headquarters, Colombo 7 was in celebration of the 59 th Birthday of the Trefoil Guild and in commemoration of the Adults and Children s day. Over 350 participants witnessed this grand performance. Trefoil Guild members, their families and friends were there to take part in this memorable event. The evening started with the lighting of the Campfire, which was the highlight of the occasion. There was fun, rejoicing merry making and singing. Songs were sung in all three languages. The theme FLAMES OF FRIENDSHIP fitted the occasion well. The Campfire was conducted by Mrs. Mangala Peiris, a very active member of the Guild - giving her utmost strength and liveliness to it. Supporting her, was a team of lively Guides who conducted themselves very well in accordance to the theme of the day. Everybody present participated in the singing and other activities, connected to the event of the day. The President of the Trefoil Guild Mrs. Dushyanthi Perera and her team look after those present and made them comfortable. Items of food and drinks were galore and the visitors enjoyed the food amidst active participation. We are sure that all those who participated in the grander of this occasion left with fine memories of the evening.
