During this two-week training, attendees will learn techniques to focus, become more efficient, and reduce stress overall for his/her own life, through yoga, mediation, and breathing techniques, as well as get instruction of how to teach YES! to high school students. P A G E 5 La Mission Film premieres April 9th Set in the Mission District of San Francisco, the film focuses on Che, a deeply devoted father who controls his world through violence and intimidation, and his son, Jesse, who is struggling to fully manifest himself and his sexuality. The filmmakers, Peter & Benjamin Bratt, describe "La Mission" as a love letter to the neighborhood and community that continues to inspire them. As the Bratt brothers state, "La Mission doesn't pull any punches. It takes a hard look at attitudes that still thrive and do damage within our communities." But at the same time, it reflects back the pride, humor and love that has enabled generations of us to endure and grow. Opening weekend attendance is critical. The box office totals determine the life expectancy of the film, including its afterlife on DVD. If you, as we do, want to see more films that are authentically representative of our experiences and our communities, we urge you to support independent filmmaking by showing up at the theaters and buying tickets. It's the only message exhibitors understand--they only run films that will bring in large crowds. The film opens in LA & NY Friday, April 9th and the SF/Bay Area April 16th.
