During the first year, students attend an intensive prgramme subdivided int three terms f advanced lectures in ecnmics and finance with exams and assignments. The prgramme starts early in September with curses in mathematics and statistics and ends in July at the final mnitring sessin. During the first year, students are als required t attend Department seminars and t perfrm ther research activities indicated by the Dctral Faculty bard. Upn the cmpletin f the curses prgramme, students start t think abut the tpic fr the dissertatin. The wrk n the dctral thesis is supervised by tw supervisrs. The first supervisr is chsen by the end f the first year. At least ne f the tw supervisrs must be a member f the Department f Ecnmics f Ca Fscari University. At the end f the first year, the Dctral Bard decides accrding t the results and verall behaviur, whether t admit students t the secnd year f the prgramme.
