Sixty-three PLS students in grades K-6 completed the requirements for the Discovery Education Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. They have each received a certificate of achievement along with a complementary pass to visit a participating Six Flags amusement park this summer. Please see the ticket for dates and requirements. Missing tickets cannot be replaced. PLS Coming Events: As we close in on the end of the school year, please note the following list of dates to remember: Ascension, May 17th, Grades K-8 sing, 6:30 PM Field Day Events - On Friday, May 18th from 1:45-2:45, the students in grades K-8 will be participating in outdoor field day events. Please make sure they are wearing appropriate clothing, including tennis shoes. PLS Spring Piano Recital: May 19th, at Cedar Community Theater in West Bend. Brat Fry - On May 20 th the teens of peace are sponsoring a brat Fry to help support the teens who will be attending the youth rally, eighth graders; Danny, Alyssa, Brandon and Adam. Kindergarten Graduation: May 29, 6:30 PM PLS Closing Service and Graduation, May 31, 6:30 PM 7th-8th Grade Banquet, May 31, following the graduation service, in the church fellowship hall. P a g e 2 Worship Opportunities This Week: Weekly Worship Thursday 6:30 PM Saturday 1:00 & 6:30 PM Sunday 7:30 & 10:00 AM Tuition Assistance Mission Focus Mission offerings between the months of March-May will be split between the Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Tuition Assistance Fund and the Peace Lutheran School Tuition Assistance fund. Both funds assist in assisting those families who might otherwise be unable to afford Christian education at either the elementary of secondary level to receive assistance with tuition to help make the payments possible. To date offerings for tuition assistance have totaled $446.19. Mark your calendar for July 30th-Aug. 3rd Come on a Journey with us this Summer! Come along with us on an Amazing Desert Journey this summer in VBS! Each day the children will learn about God s love and how He provides for their lives now and in eternity through Jesus, His Son, our Savior! Registration is open to grades Pre-K-5th, for VBS, July 30th to August 3rd. Kids will meet friends, explore Bible stories, do activities, sing songs, make crafts, play games, and eat snacks. Electronic Equipment Recycling Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School is hosting electronic equipment recycling May 18-19, 7:00-2:00 PM. They will take any used electronics, either working or broken. Hartford Jt. #1 Summer School Booklets for Hartford Jr. #1 School District Summer School courses are now available in the school office. Classes are held at Central Middle School June 18-July 13. You may register by mail or drop off a registration at Central Middle School through May 18th. This is the last week to turn in registrations for the I Run Kids Marathon. All children, 8th grade and under, are invited to participate. You will run 25.2. miles over the summer and read 26 books or for 26 hours. By entering you will receive a log sheet to help you keep track of your running and reading. By finishing, you will receive a an I RUN Kids Marathon T-shirt, Finisher s medal and goody bag. Then you are invited to join in Kids Marathon running the final mile at Wisconsin Lutheran college s Raabe Stadium. The cost is only $14 per student, thanks to a generous gift from Thrivent. Brochures with complete information are available at the school office. LPS camps include an overnight basketball camp, Little Hoopsters, Father-son Camp, Volleyball Camp and Music Camp. KML camps include: Basketball for boys and girls, cheerleading, volleyball, coed soccer, fast Pitch softball, football skills, art camp, and more. P a g e 5 KML Elementary School Band Program The Elementary School Band Program (ESBP) is now accepting registration for all interested 5 th through 8 th grade students. We offer two free camps during the summer months where you can try it before you buy it if you are new, or get a head start on the school year if you are a returning band student. The program offers weekly lessons at your school, group rehearsals at KML and various activities and trips. Market Day proceeds were posted on May 15th and Scrip proceeds were posted this week. Any additional scrip purchases will apply to tuition for the 2012-2013 school year. Scrip and Market Day have Posted $4,581.03 was rebated to our PLS Families Jan 1st April 30th for Scrip, and $67.45 was earned over the sam time period in Market Day rebates.. Thanks for supporting these beneficial programs. And the winner is First Grade! Earth Day Project Congratulations for your fabulous participation in the contest sponsored by our local Hartford Wal- Mart store, challenging each class at PLS to see how many plastic bags we can collect. The First Grade went all-out and collected 9,902 bags of the 27,496 bags from grades PreK-8. The First Grade class will receive a pizza party lunch on Friday May 18th. Thanks to all grades for supporting this recycling effort in our community.

Modified equipment will be used to help players learn these skills and have success. In addition, players will learn about sportsmanship and God s love for them through a short devotion. Parents are welcome to stay and watch their children participate. INSTRUCTOR INSTRUCTOR Tim Mueller has taught physical education to grades K-8 at Erin School since 1992. He coached 8 th grade boys basketball for many years, and runs several Path to Victory Basketball Camps each summer in the community and around the country. Additional coaches/high school students will assist with the camp. PARENT NIGHT Last day of camp, at 6:30 p.m. Players in all grades will have the opportunity to show off what they ve learned in the camp, in demonstrations as well as scrimmages. DRESS DRESS Players are required to wear basketball shoes, shorts and a t-shirt. No earrings, jewelry, or baseball hats may be worn.
