CALL TO ORDER The Board of Education of the Canfield Local School District, Mahoning County, Ohio met in regular session this date at 6:00 p.m. with the following members present: Mr. Phil Bova, President Mr. Craig Olson, Vice President Mr. Lee Frey Mrs. Nancy Lacich Mr. Barry Tancer SPECIAL RECOGNITION Mr. Geordan presented a certificate of special recognition to Robert Connelly, The Vindicator reporter, for his fair and balanced reporting. Also recognized was Julie Bercik, video journalist at WKBN. PRINCIPALS REPORTS Mr. Flood, Mr. Lavery, Mr. Maroni, Mr. Moldovan, and Mr. Mullane reported. MINUTES Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Lacich, to waive the reading of the minutes of the September 16, 2015, regular meeting and the September 23, 2015, special meeting and approve the minutes as presented. FINANCIAL REPORTS The Treasurer s financial reports for the month ending September 30, 2015, were reviewed and placed on file for audit. TREASURER S REPORTS Mr. Tancer made a motion, seconded by Mr. Olson, to approve the check payment register for the month ending September 30, 2015, to approve purchases as approved by the Superintendent, certified by the Treasurer, and detailed in the Purchase Order Register, and to approve investments as detailed in the investment report. 28

ASSISTANT TREASURER JOB DESCRIPTION Mrs. Kesner presented the job description for the Assistant Treasurer for review. COMMENTS Lisa Hepola addressed the board concerning Hockey. Stefanie Williams addressed the board concerning Remind communication tool at the middle school and commented on busing. OHIO SCHOOLS COUNCIL Mr. Tancer made a motion, seconded by Mr. Frey, to adopt Resolution 6-2016 granting approval to become a member of the Ohio Schools Council. IMPRACTICAL TRANSPORTATION Mrs. Lacich made a motion, seconded by Mr. Frey, to adopt Resolution 7-2016 declaring transportation impractical to listed schools. SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT Mr. Geordan announced he is scheduling office hours 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. every third Wednesday. Mr. Geordan announced the Strategic Planning Committee meeting at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Mr. Geordan discussed the renewal levy. SOUND SYSTEM BIDS Mr. Tancer made a motion, seconded by Mr. Frey, to reject any and all bids for the Canfield High School sound system. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at 7:08 p.m., Mr. Frey made a motion, seconded by Mr. Olson, to adjourn. 32
