Mission Statement The Center for Theater Arts is dedicated to offering the highest quality performing arts instruction and committed to providing all students, including those with special needs, with opportunities to improve their self-image and self-confidence through artistic expression. A note from the Executive Director The Center for Theater Arts is a 501 c(3) Non - profit organization that so very proud of WHAT we do and WHY we do it!! For over 37 years, the CTA has been offering high quality performing arts instruction with a fun, creative, challenging and exciting curriculum. In addition to our dynamic classes and productions, we provide an environment where we all have a role to play! We are much more than a place to take voice, dance, musical theater and theater instruction. I am confident that having classes at the CTA will be something your child will value the rest of their lives! The Center s classes are divided into three Divisions. Junior Division ages 4-7 Student Division ages 7-13 High School Division ages 13+ or 8th-12th grade or by teacher recommendation All tuition is per 15- week semester. CLASSES ARE TWO SEMESTERS AND RUN FOR 30 WEEKS. Registration for Fall Semester will continue into Spring Semester unless we are otherwise notified. CLASSES MEET ONCE A WEEK UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. As a non profit organization, the CTA is committed to exploring and developing the abilities of all students. Our knowledgeable instructors and staff have a shared commitment and vision. The Jam Session (4-5) 4:45-5:30 pm $195 Combo Class 2/3 (6-7) Combination of Jazz/Ballet/Tap 9:15-10 am $195 Combo Class (4-5) Combination of Jazz/Ballet/Tap 10-10:45 am $195 PERFORMING ARTS intro to Drama, Vocal and Musical Staging. All Junior Division classes culminate in a year end performance or concert. Take both a Performing Arts and a Junior Dance Class for $375.00. Students age 7 may choose from the Junior Division or the Student Division, which has some classes geared to the older student. Fee is per semester.

You must call CTA to reserve your spot in class before the 1st week of fall semester. New students will be evaluated and assigned a voice class time. New Students should contact the Center for audition time for class placement. Placement auditions are held August 9 or August 21. Classes in Voice emphasize skill development and are intended for those students who wish to increase their mastery in this area.the Center s vocal studies program is designed for developing voices using Broadway repertoire and culminates in a spring Vocal solo concert. The Musical Theater program incorporates three performance elements: dance, acting and singing. This is an excellent entry level class for the new student. There are no spring performances for musical theater classes. Musical Theater (7-9) 5-6 pm or 5-6 pm $215 Musical Theater (10-12) 6-7 pm or 4-5 pm $215 Performance Workshop classes with year end showcase and spring performances. ** Performance Workshop Jr (7-8) 6:15-7:15 pm $215 ** Performance Workshop 1 (7+) 1-3 pm $325 ** Performance Workshop 2 (12+) 6-8 pm $325 ** Performance Workshop 3 (13+) CTA Session Class 6-8 pm $350 ** Workshop classes with a focus on rehearsal and performance with scenes and songs from Broadway selections to be performed in a year end showcase. *Rehearsal skills class culminating in a spring performance. All-School Musical Open to all registered Center students in 3rd-8th grade. This is a fully staged ensemble style show. Registration begins in March. Cost is $195. The Center for Theater Arts Touring Company is a musical theater performance troupe, offered in the fall only, that performs at community, corporate, and educational events. Auditions in August. Students will rehearse musical and dance selections for a show and if selected will rehearse Fridays 4:30-6:30 pm. Please call the Center for more information. This Performance Troupe will be offered in the fall only. Auditions for Touring Company are August 14.

Musical Theater for Special Actors Class Day Time Fee For 36 years The Center has offered a full year of performing arts classes for special needs students ages 5-Adult that includes singing, dance, and acting. These classes are intended to provide inclusion in an activity that sparks creativity, self-confidence, social interaction and positive self-esteem. The classes culminate in a year-end performance. $10.00 registration fee per semester. Many classes fill up quickly, and we can only guarantee placement for students who complete registration and payment. To register for a class, please complete this registration form and return to the Center at: Center for Theater Arts, 250 Mt. Lebanon Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15234 or register online and email this form with credit card information. You may also fax to 412-563-5567. The Semester Registration Fee is $10.00 per family, per semester and is waived for tuitions paid in full before the first day of classes. Tuition All classes are 30 weeks two 15- week semesters. All prices are per semester and registration is for both semesters unless notified otherwise. FULL YEAR DISCOUNT If payment is made for the full 30 week school year (September through April) before September 6, you may deduct $25.00. FAMILY DISCOUNT For two or more family members, deduct $20.00 per additional person (i.e. 3 family members=$40 discount.) MULTI-CLASS $50.00 for three or more classes per semester. (This does not include Touring Company and Center Musicals.) Discounts may be used together as they apply. Full payment required regardless of attendance. GENERAL A parent or guardian should attend the first class for orientation to receive a copy of the Center s Student Handbook The first two weeks of class may be used for class placement. The Center reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or change classes and/or instructors without advance notice. Classes canceled due to weather are subject to our make-up policy (see handbook) Financial Aid The Center offers scholarships for one class to families with demonstrated financial need. To qualify for financial aid, students must complete a financial aid form and meet certain financial criteria based on the federal guidelines of the school lunch program. Paperwork must be completed and returned for consideration. All students must re-apply for financial aid each year prior to the start of class. A registration fee of $25.00 per family per semester applies. Please contact the Center for Theater Arts for more information and to receive a scholarship application.
