ELIGIBILITY All incoming 7th Graders are eligible to participate for the Fall Sports Season All 8th Graders, and beginning in the Winter Season all 7th Graders, must meet the following requirements to be eligible: * Students must pass at least 5 classes. * Students must earn at least a 1.0 grade point average

PAY TO PARTICIPATE Each sport has a $75.00 Participation Fee (Cash or Check) *Make checks payable to the Parma City Schools* Participation Fee is due by the first practice of the season Participation Fee does not guarantee the amount of playing time for your child. Playing time is earned! *In the sports where there are limited rosters (Volleyball, Cheerleading, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball) if a student does not make the team, the participation fee will be returned after they roster is set*!!!

PHYSICALS Must have a valid 6 page Preparticipation Physical Evaluation from the Ohio High School Athletic Association Forms can be printed from the Greenbriar Athletic Website or www.ohsaa.org All 6 pages MUST be filled out completley, signed and dated Physicals are being offered on Saturday, May 30th at Valley Forge from 10:00-11:30 AM. Cost is only $10.00 Health Express Urgent Care (1400 W. Pleasant Valley Rd) offers sports physicals for $25.00

SPORTS OFFERED Fall Sports: Football, Volleyball, Cross-Country, Fall Cheerleading Winter Sports: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling and Winter Cheerleading Spring Sports: Boys Track and Girls Track

NEW CONFERENCE We will be entering the Great Lakes Conference beginning in the 2015-2016 school year Boys will play against Bay, Hillside, Rocky River, Shiloh, University School and Vermilion Girls will play against Bay, Hillside, Rocky River, Shiloh and Vermilion

8TH GRADE ATHLETICS All 8th Grade teams are called the Valley Forge Patriots They will wear Valley Forge colors and uniforms Even though they go to school at VF, are called VF, and wear VF uniforms, they are under the jurisdiction of Greenbriar for athletics Any questions or concerns regarding eligibility, physicals, paperwork, fees, etc.. please contact me All 8th Grade announcements, information and schedules are on the Greenbriar Athletic Website

PRACTICE ALL practices are held at Greenbriar 8th graders will be bussed from Valley Forge to Greenbriar each day for practice Athletes will be picked up at Greenbriar each day after practice

GAMES 7th Grade Football games will be played at Greenbriar or Byers Field 8th Grade Football games will be played at Valley Forge or Byers Field Volleyball games will be played at either Greenbriar or Valley Forge Cross Country sites will vary For all away contests, athletes will take a bus to and from the site

7TH/8TH GRADE FOOTBALL First practice will be on Monday, August 3rd from 5:00-8:00 PM at Greenbriar 7th Grade Coaches: Mr. Blaha and Mr. Klimik Contact information is blahad@parmacityschools.org 8th Grade Coach: Mr. Dougherty Contact information is doughertys@parmacityschools.org

VOLLEYBALL All athletes will meet on Monday, August 3rd at Greenbriar from 9:00! to10:00 AM for 7th graders and 10:00-11:00 AM for 8th graders to turn in the participation fee, physical, and forms Tryouts are Tuesday, August 4th and Wednesday, August 5th at Greenbriar from 8:00-10:00 AM for the 8th graders and 11:00-1:00 PM for the 7th graders It is highly recommended that all athletes attend both tryout dates to help ensure the best possible chance of making the team Girls will purchase their uniform for approximately $25.00-$30.00 and keep it after the season ends 7th Grade Coach: Ms. James (jameski@parmacityschools.org) 8th Grade Coach: Mrs. Durkin (durkinj@parmacityschools.org)!

CROSS COUNTRY First practice is MONDAY, AUGUST 3rd at 10:00 AM at Greenbriar!! Coach: Mr. Kollai Contact information is kevinkollai@gmail.com

CHEERLEADING Cheer clinics will be on Thursday, May 14th; Friday, May 15th and Monday, May18th from 3:30-5:00 PM at Greenbriar Tryouts are on Tuesday, May 19th from 3:45-6:00 PM at Greenbriar Coach: Ms. Widman Contact information is widmanr@parmacityschools.org

FUNDRAISER Parma City School District Athletic Raffle Cash Prizes- 3 chances to Win (Grand Prize- $1,000 2nd & 3rd Prize- $250) Tickets are $5.00 each $3.00 from each ticket will go directly to purchasing supplies or equipment for the designated sport listed on the ticket $2.00 from each ticket will go directly to the general athletic fund to help with operating costs Please be sure to write the sport (Volleyball, 7th Grade Football, etc) as well as the athlete's last name on the line provided on the raffle ticket Any money raised cannot be used specifically for one individual or transferred to other activities

FUNDRAISER DUE DATE Drawing Date: Wednesday, May 20th at the Board of Education Office All ticket stubs, money and unsold tickets are DUE NO LATER than Monday, May 11th by 3:00 PM to Mr. Porach in the main office Anything that is not returned will be charged to the parents Any questions please contact me @ (440)885-2371
