Graduation Requirements What cumulative GPA do you need to graduate? 2.0 ( C Average) *CSU: Minimum 2.0 *UC: Minimum 3.0 How many credits do you need? 230 credits *You should have 60-70 credits at the end of 9th grade What project do you need to complete in your senior year? Senior Project *Research project includes presentation & written paper
A-G/Graduation Requirements A: History/Social Science (2 years) Government/Economics (1 year) B: English (4 years) C: Math (3 years) D: Lab Science (2 years) Additional Science (1 year) E: Language Other Than English (2 years) F: Visual/Performing Arts (1 year) G: Elective (1 year) (50 additional elective credits) *2 years of PE
PE Requirements 2 years of PE required to graduate You will be taking the PFT in February You must pass 5 out of the 6 requirements 1 mile run/pacer, 90º push-ups, curl-ups, shoulder stretch, trunk lift, BMI (height/weight) If you pass the PFT this year: You can take your 2nd year of PE 10th, 11th or 12th grade OR you can play 2 seasons of sports E.g. Basketball & Tennis You can enroll in Dance as your 2nd year If you did not pass the PFT: You must take PE next year *If you are not in an Academy you can take Dance instead If you are in an Academy you have to take 0 period PE You can still earn credit for playing sports
Advanced Placement & Honors Courses 1. Available courses to rising 10th graders: AP Biology, AP Spanish, AP French, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science (Computer Academy only) 2. You will need to formally request AP/HP course in Aeries during course scheduling *this does not guarantee placement 3. 4. 6. Administration will generate a list of students who request AP/HP classes Department teachers will meet to discuss applicants, and ensure that students meet prerequisites/criteria for classes 5. Teachers will share final list with counselors You will be notified in May about your HP/AP placement and where to pick up your summer assignment
Course Requests for 10th Grade Scheduling will occur in your English/CA History classes this month between February 7 - February 15 Janus House: Thursday, February 7 Sol House: Monday, February 11 Neptune House: Tuesday, February 12 Make-up Scheduling: February 25-28 * In order to request courses you need access to your Aeries student account

10th Grade English & History Whether you are in an Academy or not, all 10th graders will be enrolled in English 2 World History *There are no Honors or AP English/History courses offered in 10th grade

E: Language *Even if you plan to take a language course over the summer, you should still request a language course for next year (just in case you do not end up completing the course or do not pass. *Once you pass the summer language course you will need to provide your 10-12th counselor with your transcript in order to receive credit and be dropped from your language class for 10th grade.
