COOL CAMPUS. With 800 acres of main campus space, a great mix of both brand new and historical buildings, and a feel that s big and small, EMU is one cool campus. Close to many things, but far from the ordinary. Eastern Michigan University gives students a small-town feel with access to big-city events, connections, and more. Located in the historical city of Ypsilanti, EMU is perfectly positioned in the eclectically mixed southeastern Michigan area with a bustling business community, professional sports, the DIA, and an international airport within 32 kilometers of campus. The Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area is home to four different universities and a community college, which makes it feel like the largest college community in Michigan. With such a diverse student population, the area is filled with several co-op and internship opportunities, cultural events, neighborhood shopping, museums, and unique annual events. Here, you ll find a neighborhood that will take you in, but offerings beyond that will keep you away from the ordinary.

TIGHT BONDS. We re darn proud of the fact that our student-to-faculty ratio is 19:1. The result: personalized teaching, better learning, and tighter bonds. Most classes are limited to 30 students, so you ll get lots of oneon-one attention from faculty and staff. This approach gives you the opportunity to build relationships with people who will provide references for jobs or recommendations for graduate school. Your personal, hands-on experience at EMU will put you ahead of your peers. But with personal comes affordable too... with one of the most competitive costs of attendance in the United States a high percentage of international students receive our National Scholars Program scholarship each year, covering the difference between resident and non-resident tuition and more than 200 nationally recognized programs.
