Bonar Bridge Primary School Newsletter October 2016 from Mrs Rosie Learning at Bonar Bridge this term The pupils have had a very busy term. Both classes have been learning about Scotland trough their class topics. They ve had visits from Scripture Union, the SSPCA, local countryside rangers and participated in drama workshops with John from Eden Court. There are lots of new and exciting events coming up. Parent Council News The bake sale raised a fantastic 192!!!! Thank you to everyone who donated baking; helped on the day and bought cakes!! Upcoming fundraisers: Friday Treasure Map School Christmas tea towels Village Christmas carol singing Keep an eye out in future newsletters for details of all upcoming events! Country dancing practice Christine Macdonald has very kindly agreed to lead the country dancing practice this year. This will start with all P4 to 7 pupils, with a team of 8 to 10 pupils being selected for the competition in March. New dancing pumps have been ordered for the children and we plan to revamp the costumes with black t-shirts for the girls and black shirts for the boys. We are also looking for someone to do the girls hair this year. If you know of anyone who would be willing to do this please get in touch with Jen in the office. Awfy Bonnie School photos Last chance for Lost property Pupil photos are now available to view on Michelle s website www.awfybonnie.com All remaining lost property will be put to RagBag on Friday 7 th of October. Please visit the school if you need to claim any missing items before then. After-school Football Club The after-school football club has now finished for Winter. It will start again in April. A huge thank you to our parents who run the club. You do a great job! Head Teacher update The staff and I have set dates for next term and tried to organise as much as possible so there is a
smooth transition for the pupils. Please see dates and details below. Interviews for the cluster Head teacher post will be held after the October holidays. Mr McCarthy will cover in the interim, until Christmas. I will be meeting with Mr McCarthy tomorrow for a final hand over. Farewell I can t believe how quickly the term has gone and that this week is my last week at Bonar Bridge. I ve really enjoyed my time as class teacher, Principal Teacher and Head Teacher. I would like to thank the staff for being such a fab team to work with. You ve made my time at Bonar Bridge very enjoyable. I m really going to miss everyone..especially this bunch!! I wish everyone all the very best for the future.
