DEBRIEFS Dan McAlpin, Secondary Principal - Mr. McAlpin noted that the spring musical, Oklahoma, presented by Bloomfield High School will be this weekend. Tickets are available at the door or online at https://search.seatyourself.biz/webstore/accounts/bloomfieldcsd/buy-tickets?d=1 - Mr. McAlpin shared that some of our MSHS students participated in the Student Walk Out yesterday. Mr. McAlpin noted that the students did a great job and were respectful of each other. The organization and presentations were generated completely by BCS students. Mr. McAlpin noted that the students protested but remembered the victims and there was a lot to be proud of for their organization of the Walk Out. Kateri Warren, Director of Pupil Personnel Services - Mrs. Warren shared that volunteers are coming together for Special Olympics being held at BCS on May 18, 2018. Mrs. Warren thanked many of the businesses that have made donations to help support the athletes and noted that a gofundme page has been created by Special Olympics if anyone would like to donate. https://www.gofundme.com/bloomfieldspecialolympics Andy Doell, Superintendent - Mr. Doell thanked Kathy Taylor, Director of Curriculum and Assessment for arranging the visit by Greater Southern Tier BOCES to both schools. Mr. Doell noted that he was proud to sit in a meeting with them to hear not only compliments to teachers and students, but they asked many questions and were impressed with the climate and culture at BCS. Mrs. Taylor acknowledged Donna Bird, Heather Ruger, Matt Angell, Christine Ashton, Amanda Allen/Pat Wolfanger, and Beth Hoak for having them visit in their classrooms. - Mr. Doell acknowledged a compliment given to Kimberly Rohring, business administrator, from a retired employee on how helpful Ms. Rohring was in the transition process from active employee to retiree. It was further noted that Ms. Rohring s willingness to meet with the retiree and her responsiveness to her questions and concerns was impressive. - Mr. Doell shared the National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on March 21, 2018 in the PAC foyer from 9am-2pm. - Mr. Doell shared that the Interact Club has put together, Our Closet, which offers clothing and toiletries to kids in need. - Mr. Doell thanked Ken Mathis, board member, and the Lions Club for inviting him to a meeting to speak. - 7 -
