Beginning August 1, 2016, NCAA D1 will require 10 courses to be completed prior to the seventh semester. - These 10 courses become locked in at the start of the seventh semester and cannot be retaken for grade improvements, unless it is taken the summer before the start of the senior year. - 7 of the 10 locked in core classes have to be English, Math, or Science. Test Scores Uses the sliding scale (see below) Grade Point Average The GPA used to receive athletics aid and practice on or after August 1, 2016, is 2.000-2.299 The GPA required to be eligible for competition on or after August 1, 2016, is 2.300.
