KALAMUNDA SHOW The P&C are running a food stall at the Kalamunda Show on Friday and Saturday. A large number of people have volunteered their time and it is another wonderful example of our very active P&Cs fundraising efforts, all of which go to supporting the school and your children. Page 2 Monday 30th April is a School Development Day and Term 2 commences for students on Tuesday, 1 May Regards, David Ingle Principal DEPUTY NEWS Hockey Clinics Students from Year 3 Year 6 really enjoyed the hockey clinics last Friday which were run by the Kalamunda Hockey Association. Our thanks to Richard Guthrie, the Junior Development Officer, who coordinated these clinics as well as the other coaches who helped to run them. Smart Start Banking Program On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the Smart Start banking team from the Commonwealth Bank have been running some sessions around teaching students about financial literacy. They have been helping students with developing strategies that assist them in planning how to save money. A reminder too, that the P & C run school banking before school every Wednesday morning in the Undercover Area outside the staff room. This is a great way for students to develop good saving habits from a young age. Easter Hat Parade There were some fantastic hats on display at our annual Easter Hat Parade held before the Easter Long Weekend. Lots of students, parents and teachers went to a great deal of effort with the designs and decorations and they looked great as they paraded around. Page 3 Eagles and Fever Cup football and netball in Term 2 Students from Year 5 and Year 6 will get the opportunity to participate in the Eagles and Fever Cup competitions during Term 2. Students will play football and netball games against other schools in the Stirk Sports Association. The Year 6 students will get first opportunity to participate and then the Year 5 students. There are a large number of Year 5 students wanting to participate and they will be rotated into teams over the 2 rounds of competition. The first round will be a full-day carnival on Friday, 4 May and the second round will be held on Friday, 25 May and will be an afternoon carnival. Mr Carter and myself will be holding football training on Wednesday afternoons in Week 11 of Term 1 and the first 4 Weeks of Term 2. All Year 5 and Year 6 students who are interested in playing are invited to come along to training. Training will be straight after school from 3.10 4.00pm. Falls Road Primary Book Swap The Book Swap Shop is open on a Wednesday afternoon from 3.00 3.15pm. We are located at the back of the library and access is via the back door of the library directly opposite Room 9 at the top of the steps see the sign on the door.
