Hello Memorial Families! Welcome Message from the Memorial Elementary PTO As we begin a new school year, I d like to take this opportunity to extend a very heartfelt welcome to all new and returning families, alike. Memorial Elementary is a great school with exceptional teachers, caring staff, and amazing students! I feel very fortunate to be a part of the PTO this year and part of an involved and committed community. The Memorial PTO is looking forward to making 2015-2016 a fun and productive year! Our PTO works to improve the wellbeing of all students that attend our school by providing funding and support for educational and recreational needs, encouraging the collaboration and involvement of families and staff throughout the school by organizing fun events and promoting Brunswick & Memorial PRIDE with special incentives to the students all year. We are off and running with lots of PTO events scheduled in the upcoming weeks. Some things to keep an eye out for would be the Mother/Son Dance (9/18), Donuts with Dads (10/1&10/2), Kalahari Night (10/15) and Movie Night (10/30). Our Hiram House Fundraiser is already underway, proceeds from the sale of the Save Around Coupon Books goes towards each grade level. Also, our first Domino s Dough Raising Day is September 2 nd and our first Family Fun Night is at Sweet Frog in Brunswick September 15 th 6-9PM. We are always in need of volunteers and we are always open to hearing new ideas on how to improve. Help us achieve more by lending your time and expertise, together we truly can make a difference! We encourage all families to get involved with the PTO any way in which you feel comfortable and fits your schedule. There are many different ways to participate and we invite you all to take advantage of all the PTO has to offer. Our students, parents and dedicated teachers and staff are special, and Memorial will continue to grow and improve because of this. Please take a moment to explore the Memorial school & PTO website for the official calendar of meetings, the 2015-2016 PTO calendar of events and other information. You can also check us out at our Facebook page, Memorial Elementary PTO, or email us at MemorialPTO13@gmail.com with any questions you might you have. If you don t have online access, we can always be reached by calling the school and leaving a message or send a note in with your child. I, personally, would like to invite you all to attend a PTO meeting. They are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30PM. Come hear what we have planned for our kids, meet the PTO board and other parents, and learn about happenings at the school. Children are always welcomed and refreshments will be provided. We are looking forward to another fantastic school year! See you around school! Tammy McMillen, PTO President 7pcMcNuggets@gmail.com
