How can students see their counselor? Students may visit Counselors Corner during all lunches Monday-Friday Students may visit their counselor before or after school, or may fill out a Counselor Request Form Students may email their counselor Students may request to fill out a purple pass with their teachers

FHSP + Endorsements A student may earn an endorsement by successfully completing: FHSP Requirements Curriculum for the specific endorsement One additional math credit One additional science credit Two additional electives TOTAL = 26 CREDITS

Distinguished Level of Achievement A student must earn the Distinguished Level of Achievement to be eligible for the top 10% automatic admission (UT Exception). The distinguished level of achievement requires 4 credits in math including Algebra II 4 credits in science all other FHSP requirements and at least one endorsement

Class Ranking Rank will be determined by Grade Point Averages. Estimated class rank is available now for current 11 th graders. Six semester GPA/Rank available summer 2020 for current 10 th graders. Grade Point Average GPA is cumulative by semester Each year of high school is important High school credit earned in middle school is not calculated into the GPA (EXCEPTION Courses taken on the high school campus) All courses taken after the completion of middle school are averaged in the GPA except local credit courses (i.e. Office Assistant). Courses taken in the summer prior to 9 th grade are calculated into the GPA.
Pass/Fail Certain 3 rd or 4 th year courses in a four year elective program Limited to two credits total one junior year and one senior year Students should have mostly A s on their transcript Numerical grade on Report Card, P or F on transcript Removes the grade points from the student s GPA
Top 10% Rule Students who rank in the top 10% of their graduating class AND graduate with the Distinguished Level of Achievement will have Automatic Admission to Texas public universities Exception: UT Austin Class of 2019 = 6%
