Warblington School Message from Mike Hartnell, Headteacher Thank you to everyone for all your hard work and support this year! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 7th January. Geography Recycled Christmas Bauble Competition T'was the night before Christmas and all through the school, Empty drinks cans and bottles laid used and worn out. Along came the Geographers with an amazing idea, to decorate a tree using all this once used material. Entries came from all years and even the staff, Who would have thought they were such a craft loving bunch. Recycled drink cans, bottles and pots, used light bulbs and ping-pong balls, turned into magical surprises, to hang from the tree in their second use disguises. The winner was picked, tough it was too, First prize award and second in situ. Well-done Melissa Altunatmaz from 7C and Miss Barker for their creativity. And thank-you to all for the lovely ideas, of how to reuse and recycle are everyday things. Now students, this story is not just for you, It's important for adults to recycle too! Reduce and reuse are things to remember - To do all year round, not just in December! Mr Strzelec, Geography T: 02392 475480 E: admin@warblingtonschool.co.uk www.warblington.hants.sch.uk

Year 9 & 10 Reward Trip On Tuesday 18th December, 50 students from Year 9 & 10 went bowling in Gunwharf Quays as part of their end of term reward trip. It was a lovely day with all students in good spirits and interacting with each other in their teams. All the students behaved well and as a staff team we were all very proud of how the students represented the school. Well done! Miss Blundell, Head of Year 10 Pictured: Ceira Tester 10E and Paris-Leigh Perkins UV Football On Friday 14th December, 24 pupils participated in UV football. It was another successful event where the children came together to experience football in a different way. The girls decorated themselves in paint and wore glow sticks and luminous bibs enabling them to have lots of fun. The highlight of the event was Mr Hartnell joining in with the final game, however he was unable to get on the score sheet as a result of some very good defending! We look forward to the next UV football event! Mrs Griffin, PE Stocking Fillers Stuck with ideas for stocking fillers for your children? School equipment is the gift that just keeps giving. Here are a few ideas Scientific calculator, ruler, pens, pencils etc. These are all items that are required on a daily basis for all years and lessons. Thank you Mr Barnard, Head of Year 7 Digital Leaders E-Safety Tip of the Week Ensure your social media accounts are private! School Lunch Menu Monday 7th January - Friday 11th January Article 24 Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment so that children can stay healthy. Richer counties must help poorer countries achieve this.
