A BRIEF HISTORY OF TSKC GIRRAJ GOVT COLLEGE Girraj Govt. College is one of the most prestigious institutions serving the educational needs of people of North Telangana region of the state. It offers both UG & PG Courses catering to the requirements of thousands of students every year. The Government of Andhra Pradesh, in 2007 started JAWAHAR KNOWLEDGE CENTRE in this prestigeous institution. Since then it has been incessantly imparting training in Communication Skills, Analytical Skills and Soft Skills to the students for enhancing their employment potentials. Many students got benefited by these training programmes and got Placements in reputed MNCs like Infosys, Wipro, World Tech, Transdyne and ILM etc. English Language Lab (ELL) is also attached to JKC. Besides imparting training to the students, the JKC is also extending its service through conducting training programmes to Principals, Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff of Intermediate Education of the district. Training for Teaching Staff working in Govt. Degree Colleges of the district was also conducted as per the guidelines of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education. The JKC Unit of our College, named as Nodal JKC, acts as a district level Monitoring Unit (MC), acts as a link between the CCE Office and all other JKC Units of GDC s of the district. Hence, all administrative proceedings of the CCE to all the GDC s of the district are transmitted through our Nodal JKC only. The JKC has internet facility which provides day-to-day current information and knowledge to the students and members of Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff. As a Nodal JKC Unit, it also pass on latest and required information to all the other JKC Units of Government Degree Colleges of the District are circulated through Nodal JKC. Our Nodal JKC involves in sensitizing the students of other Government Degree Colleges and private colleges encourage them to join the JKC for benefiting them by providing proper training programmes, leading to employment opportunities. The students who are trained in this Nodal JKC have got Placements in reputed Multi National Companies such as Infosys, Wipro, World Tech, Transdyne and ILM etc. In 2008, an Add-on Course, PGDCA in started and successfully completed the course. An Accounting Package (Tally) training programme has conducted students of Commerce stream. Advance intensive Training is given to the JKC trained students before every Requirement Drive organized by Infosys Company every year.
In addition to the above programmes, and as per the instructions of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, JKC organizes Special Training Programme (STP) and Bank Exam Training (BET) for appearing various competitive examinations and Banking Examinations respectively. CONCEPT OF TSKC The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh initiated JKC in 2005 as a reliable solution to the problem of unemployment faced by students studying Non-Professional Courses in Degree Colleges. The ever increasing prominence of India, on the global map has paved way for a growing demand for hard working and talented students who are good at computer skills, communication skills, and industry related skills. The doors of global job market are opened to students who can speak fluently, complete quickly, write legibly and analyze logically. Jawahar Knowledge Center s primary aim is to provide intensive training to students in employable skills and enable students avail themselves of the bright opportunities in the global job market. Remarkably, the centers are best utilized by the poorest of the poor and marginalized sections of the society. Students from rural areas who have no access to advantages experienced by their urban counterparts are provided the latest technologies and opportunities to upgrade their skills and encouraged to complete for better standards of living. The center received overwhelming response from day one and the encouraging placements add to its strength and objectives. JKC s established in Degree Colleges provided with a world class infrastructure and experienced faculty who are totally dedicated to students and completely involved in providing the best training to the students who can climb the ladder of success.
