HEATHRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL 1 November 2018 Proudly An Independent Public School Newsletter Dear Families, It has been a very busy couple of weeks and I have loved visiting classes to see the great work that is happening. The students are all on task and focussed which is great to see. We have some busy times ahead and the year is flying by. FACEBOOK Please add yourself to our official Heathridge Primary School Facebook Group if you have not already done so. We share lots of photos and updates via Facebook and want all parents to be able to access this. Once you request to join we will verify your identity and add you. Please note that this group is for parents/caregivers only and not for extended family members or friends. PP ASSEMBLY I am very excited about next week s assembly. Our gorgeous PP class will be presenting the assembly. I hope to see you all there. REMEMBRANCE DAY This year, we will be having a short assembly to participate in a minutes silence on Friday 9 November at 11.00am. KIDSMATTER BREAKFAST We had a fabulous turnout to this week s KidsMatter Breakfast. We are still trying hard to get the students to eat beans, but alas, they seem to always prefer spaghetti, Our next breakfast will be held on Wednesday 28 November. I hope to see lots of families there. RIPPER RECESS This was my first Ripper Recess and I was so impressed! The stalls were amazing and the students behaviour outstanding. We raised $1,091.00 which will go towards subsidising the Big Day In at the end of the year. WESTERN POWER CIRCUIT BREAKERS I am so excited to be joining Room 15 at Scitech tomorrow night when they showcase the work they have been doing with the 3D printers. I will take lots of photos and share these. COLOURFUL SHIRT, SOCKS AND HAT DAY Don t forget to get out your craziest and loudest shirts, socks and hat tomorrow, Friday 2 November, and give a gold coin donation to support our Year 6 graduating students. ART SHOW This week the fabulous art work from all of our students PP-6 has been on display at our annual Art Show. I was so impressed by the work the students have produced and voting for my favourites was definitely difficult. Thank you to Mrs Parker and Mrs McInnes for the work you have done in Art this year. FATHER S FRIDAY We are pleased to say that we look forward to this continuing every Friday and look forward to seeing our dads. STAFF CARPARK Please remember that the car park is for staff only. We have noticed that people have started to use the carpark as a kiss and ride which is not permitted as it is not safe. Please do not park or come into the car park to drop off or pick up students. Staff are coming and going at all times. Denise Jeffs Principal 55 Channel Drive, Heathridge WA 6027 w -heathridgeps.wa.edu.au p - [08] 9401 8088 e - Heathridge.ps@education.wa.edu.au

START SMART MONEY INCURSION Next week, all classes will participate in a FREE incursion about the Start Smart Money. The Start Smart program is designed to change the way young people learn about money. By making money management interactive, engaging and fun we can assist to equip students with the confidence and competence to make smart decisions about money. LOST PROPERTY At this time of the year the lost property box starts to look very full. When you are up at the school please pop into the KidsMatter room and check if anything belongs to your child. I would also like to encourage everybody to check that your child has their name on their school jumpers. Denise Pires Associate Principal JELLY CUPS ARE BACK!
