Dear Students, Making Jesus Real (MJR) and Year Six MJR is aimed at helping you gain and maintain a positive attitude to life through assisting in the development of people skills and life skills. These skills cannot be developed in one go but take a lifetime to develop. The Yr. 6 MJR book looks at 56 qualities we need to develop and because this can t happen overnight, and your teacher cannot teach it all, we are just introducing it to you. You can keep the book with you for life. In reality MJR is an adult book with kid s cartoons in it! One important aspect of MJR is the journaling at the back of the book. You can still write in your MJR journal when you are in secondary school and hopefully you will continue to journal and read over parts of MJR later in life. Sometimes, as a teenager, life throws you different challenges and is not as clear as it was in primary school. In these times it can be helpful to refer back to your MJR book, read some of the topics and your journal entries. Read how you thought about life as a 12 year old and this may help you regain your compass points in life. The main aspect of MJR is to become friends with the Risen Jesus, the Resurrected Jesus who is among us in our lives each day, with the people we come into contact with and in the Sacraments we enjoy as 12 year olds; Eucharist and Reconciliation. Jesus is in the NOW of our lives. We live in the NOW so he is with us always. There is so much Godness around us and we have to be switched on to it by reflecting every day to see where Jesus has been for you on that day. DON T LEAVE JESUS AS A PERSON IN HISTORY HE IS ALIVE IN ALL OF US TODAY Best wishes for a wonderful, positive year with Jesus as your mentor, Cheers, Mitch Peter Mitchell (MJR, Hobart Tasmania) 2
