My Dear Friends in Christ, On Thursday May 31 st, the Church celebrated the great Feast Day of the Visitation. Obviously, there is a lot of Theological content going on in Luke s account, but there is one specific detail I would like to reflect on briefly. It is apparent Elizabeth, Mary s cousin, is excited about Mary, the Mother of her Savior, coming to visit her. However, we also here of another who is excited about Mary s visit, that being John the Baptist. Luke mentions just hearing the voice of Mary, John leaped in her womb for joy. Isn t this remarkable? John was not even physically present in Jesus presence, but in his mother s womb and he still got excited. With the hatred we experience every day, how important is this message for us today? As I reminded our children in a morning reflection, if each of us could continually see Christ in each other and in the natural world around us, we could get a whole lot of people jumping for joy, and this world could be such a happier and less violent place. As Christ reminds us My yoke is easy and my burden is light. As we approach the end of the school year, just a few key dates I would like to share with you: June 5 th is our Spring Concert. There will be an in-school concert beginning at 10:30a and our evening concert beginning at 6:30p. June 18 th is our Golf Tournament. There is NO SCHOOL on this day. June 19 th is our Field Day. June 20 th is our Last Day of School. It is an EARLY DISMISSAL day. Once again, I thank you for all you have done, continue to do, and will do for Saint Anthony School. I hope you have a blessed weekend and we shall see you all on Monday. God s Blessings and Peace. Mr. Howe

Please remember all tickets that were sent home from the office should be returned to school office by June 15. Additional tickets are available at the parish office after June 4th. Thanks for helping to make this another successful raffle!!! Past Due Parent Commitment After June 1 st you will be contacted by the Finance Manager to set up payment arrangements. Parents Guild Pet Parade! Many thanks to Paul & Karen Pavano, the Parents Guild and all the volunteers who came together to create our own awesome Eagle's Nest float for the Pet Parade! What would our floats be without a trailer to carry them and a truck to tow them? Thank you to the Pavano s for so selflessly sharing their equipment and time for our float efforts again this year. Thank you also to Winsted (CT) Rotary Pet Parade for sponsoring this fun community tradition for so many years. The families in our area always look forward to this event! Special appreciation to all the marchers and cheerleaders that accompanied the float down Winsted's Main Street. And finally, thank you to Neil Hunt, Post Commander of Winsted VFW 296, for allowing the Pet Parade to join the Memorial Day Parade today after the cancellation of their own parade last weekend. The VFW 'saved the day' for all the Pet Parade participants! We realize Memorial Day is a solemn occasion and don't underestimate the decision to allow the merger this year. We remember all the fallen with gratitude. Upcoming Parents Guild Meetings, Elections The St. Anthony School Parents Guild invites families and friends of St. Anthony School to join our group for the 2018-2019 school year.
