It was great to see such passionate students bursting to try and do their best to continue to make Sharon State School, the best school in the universe Even though the meeting was only an introduction I was completely bombarded with ideas for how we could improve the school. I ended up having to remind the students that we were just having a quick meeting. This week I ventured to the 2017 Principals Conference to discuss the future of education in the state. I found it extremely hard to leave the school for this period so early in the year. I must say that I am very thankful for the passionate and dedicated staff that Sharon has and also for our student Tuck Shop Tuesdays... Student Banking CommBank - Tuesdays. Page 4 Religious Instruction - Proud Scholars Only Proud Scholars are participating in Religious Instruction this year on Friday afternoon from 1:45-2:15pm. Religious Instruction at Sharon School is nondenominational which means that the class is taught from a workbook provided by Bundaberg Co-Operative Religious Instruction Working Committee for each year level and not for each particular religion. Lesson workbooks are provided at a cost of $5 per child or $10 per family. All families of children in the Proud Scholars are asked to make a payment. All the funds go directly to the Bundaberg Co-operative Religious Instruction Working Committee. As the levy is voluntary, we don t bill families. Any shortfall in funds is met by this committee. Payment is requested by Friday 25 March. All parents should have completed a Permission form for Religious Instruction on enrolment. If you do NOT wish your child to attend Religious Instruction classes, we need this form complete which is available in the office. Please place money in a school collection envelope marked with your child s name and Religious Education and place it in your classroom collection box. We are again running the Easter Raffle and ask for parents to donate chocolates eggs/bunnies etc and other Easter goodies. Small or large donations, it all helps to make it another successful raffle for the school and ultimately the students. There will be boxes in all the classrooms for donations or you can bring them directly to the office. We will be sending home Raffle Tickets in the next week and these will need to be returned to school by Wednesday 29 April. The raffle will be drawn on parade on the last day of Term 1, Friday 1 April. Thanks, Kate
