Mother s Day Stall The Mother s Day stall is being held tomorrow and is a wonderful service provided by our P&C Auxiliary, enabling children to buy something special for Mother s Day. Many thanks to the P&C Auxiliary and parent volunteers for coordinating the stall this year, setting up and serving on the day. NAPLAN A reminder that all students in Year 3 and 5 will take part in the NAPLAN Online assessment beginning Tuesday 15 th May and concluding Friday 25 th May. This is the first year where students will be completing the assessments online (except for Year 3 Writing). We have ensured an optimal environment for students to complete each assessment through careful planning and timetabling. Students need to complete the assessments in the following order throughout the testing period; Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy. Please advise the office if you know your child will be absent during this time so we can make arrangements in the timetable. Students do not need to worry about these assessments and we ask that while we want students to come well rested and ready to do their best, we certainly don t want them to feel any performance pressure. NAPLAN should be viewed as a diagnostic tool to give information to the school and parents. It is not something that defines a child, nor is it the only demonstration of their learning or ability. We use a variety of measures to monitor and grow student achievement. Annual Report 2017 and School Plan 2018-2020 The 2017 Lindsay Park Public School Annual Report and the School Plan 2018-2020 have been published and are available for parents and the community via the school website. To access these documents, go to the Our School tab and then select School Planning and Reporting from the menu on the left hand side. I would like to thank staff, students and the community for their valuable contributions in the development of these key documents that will drive whole school improvement and excellence. P&C Meeting The May P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday 8 th starting at 7pm in the Library. All welcome. Have a wonderful fortnight. Kind regards, Jacqui Conway Principal
