St Brendan s Primary School 46 Langham Street, Ganmain NSW 2702 Phone: 69276198 Fax: 0269276377 email: sb-info@ww.catholic.edu.au website: web.sbww.catholic.edu.au Dear Parents, Families and Friends, The working bee on Saturday morning was a great success with most jobs on our list completed. Thank you to those parents and students who were able to be with us and for your enthusiasm, good humour and hard work. It was a wonderful morning and I am sure you agree that St. Brendan s is sparkling. As you may have noticed, the unsafe gum trees have been removed and the broken concrete edging at the front of the school has been replaced. We will soon tidy up the front garden and replace the dead hedges so that the entrance to St. Brendan s looks more inviting. If you (or anyone you know) would like some agapanthus, these are to be removed so please come and help yourselves. Lenten Prayer Almighty and Everlasting God, You have given the human race Jesus Christ our Saviour as a model of humility. He fulfilled Your Will by becoming Man and giving His life on the Cross. Help us to bear witness to You by following His example of suffering and make us worthy to share in His Resurrection. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Amen. On Monday Mrs. Sase, Mrs. Guthrie and myself attended a professional development day in Wagga which had school improvement as its focus. It was an informative day and we intend to apply our new learnings to our school context at the pupil free day in term two. This day has now been confirmed as the first day back for term two Monday April 28. There will be no school for students on this day. We were thrilled to be able to welcome our friend Jake to school on Tuesday morning. Jake has had some time at home with his family in Ganmain and felt well enough to join us for a story, song and a craft activity. We were so happy to have him (and his mum Kelly) at St. Brendan s and look forward to his next visit. Our athletics carnival is to be held on Friday after Mass which is starting at 9am. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can get through our events without too many interruptions. We are very limited with dates and will only be able to postpone the carnival to next Tuesday. In the event that the day is washed out, we will contact you via text to let you know what is happening. On Monday the students of St. Brendan s will join the Ganmain Public School students to sing some songs for the Red Cross Conference which is to be held at the Ganmain Hall. I know they will sing like angels and represent our school with pride. A reminder that the Easter Liturgy is on Wednesday, April 9 th and will start at 9:30am in the library. We would love to have you join us to reflect on the events of the Easter season and stay afterwards for a cuppa. We will also draw the raffle after the liturgy. Looking forward to welcoming many of you then. We continue to keep the Guthrie and Underwood families in our prayers as well as those in our community who also need prayers at this time.
