Definitions A/B- Schedule that rotates based on whether it is an A day or B day Full Year Class-A class that meets both in the Fall and Spring Semester Class- A class that only meets for 1/2 a year (either 1st and 2nd MP or 3rd and 4th MP) Daily Class- A class that meets both A days and B days Credit- The value that a course carries that counts towards your graduation requirement. 9

AVID is offered as a Full Year Encore class. AVID students will NOT take their Language 1A until 7th grade 14
Full Year Encore Offerings PE- Requirement for ALL students Band*- Oboe, clarinet, flute, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, baritone horn, trombone, tuba and percussion Chorus*- Students will learn concepts of vocal productionand choral techniques appropriate for a large ensemble. Dance*- Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap Dance for Athletes*- Development of footwork, coordination, core strength, agility Orchestra*- violin, viola, cello and string bass *Meets the Fine Art requirement 15
Semester Offerings True Colors*- Variety of media painting, drawing, sculpture Healthy Life- Empower students to recognize and adopt a healthy lifestyle focusing primarily on cooking. Gateway to Technology- Hands-on course. Possible projects include tic-tac-toe board, marble holders, oven hooks, pen holders, technical drawings to scale Project Runway*- Students will learn basic sewing principles and fashion design. Music Goes Global*- Real world applications that support global awareness and artistic expression *Meets the Fine Art requirement **offered EITHER Fall or Spring Semester Students CANNOT take the same class for both semesters 16
