Financial Literacy Programme In collaboration with Junior Achievement Singapore (JA) to engage volunteers from the financial world to come into our school to run the programme. At P2, our focus will be on Differentiating Needs and Wants. 3. Math Olympiad Training Primary 2 to 6 high achieving students develop higher order thinking skills and solve non-routine problems
Mother Tongue Languages Mission Nurture our students to be confident and effective communicators in the Mother Tongue Languages. Enable them to appreciate the rich culture and heritage of the Chinese, Malays and Indians (Tamil).
Special Department Programmes Friday Reading Programme (Morning) students need to bring MT storybooks to read in the hall/parade ground MT Library periods (bi-weekly) teachers will be bringing students to library to borrow MT books. Pls remind them to bring their EZ Link card. MT Fortnight (July) cultural and language activities will be organized for students Enrichment Lesson: Mother Tongue Languages Speech and Drama conducted to encourage students to express themselves confidently in the MT language.
Assessment Types of assessments at Primary 2 1) Bite-Sized Tests (Term 1-3 ) Short test for milestone check on students understanding of the various components in each subject. Marks will be reflected in the report book. 2) Semestral Assessment (Term 4) Tests skills and concepts that have been taught by the end of Term 4. Marks will be reflected in the report book. More details will be given in the assessment letter which will be sent out to parents by end of January.

Homework Policy What is homework? Any learning activity that students are required to complete outside of curriculum time. Assignments and Projects are considered as homework. Revision of school work or studying for tests and exams are not considered homework. There is a difference between class work that a student did not complete in class and work that is assigned as homework

Homework Policy Promoting a balanced life for our students No homework will be given on holidays accorded for religious observances and racial celebration e.g. Hari Raya, Good Friday. This is to recognise that homework will mean time taken away from family bonding and family commitments.
Homework is regulated and monitored so that there is no overload on any one day. Homework Policy Promoting a balanced life for our students E/M/MTL will not all assign homework on one day for completion by the next day. Teachers will write on the whiteboard work assigned for their respective subjects to help monitor this. Sufficient lead time is given for completion. Homework submission date is made known to pupils. Based on individual student needs, homework can be modified and scaled down or scaled up.
Attire Please ensure that nametags are ironed or sewn on by Term 1 Week 5. For formal uniform, nametags are to be sewn 1 cm above the pocket for boys. For girls, it should be in the middle of the second button and side of the sleeves.
Attire Please ensure that plain white shoes and socks are worn only. No coloured stripes/trimmings allowed Headgear of any type e.g. hoods, hats/caps, scarves, is not allowed. Hair should be neat & tied up if it touches the collar. No make up/ tattoo/accessories of any type is allowed refer to p. 12-16 of student handbook.
Punctuality Silent reading starts at 7.40 a.m.; students are expected to participate in this. Students are to read their English storybooks from Monday to Thursday and Mother Tongue books on Friday. Flag-raising ceremony will start at 7.50 a.m. so that classes can start promptly at 8 a.m. When students are late for school, it causes stress to the child and this affects their readiness for class. Students need to develop the habit of being punctual.
Absenteeism Please call/email the Form Teacher if your child is absent. Upon returning to school, provide a medical certificate or letter with a valid reason (not to be used for Review Tests and Exams)
FTGP FTGP: Form Teacher Guidance Period FTGP lessons are conducted to build better teacher-student relations. Good values are also taught. Both Form Teachers conduct FTGP lessons
Snack Break Between 12.30 pm to 1.00 pm Your child will be allowed to consume snacks in the classroom. Your child is encouraged to bring healthy, dry snacks. Suggestion: Fruits Raisins Biscuits Bun Nuts Cereal Bar Biscuits (with plain water)
