February 1, 2017 Dear Parents, Enclosed with this letter you will find a registration form for the 2017-2018 school year and an informational letter about fees for next year. Forms should be filled out, signed, and returned no later than Thursday, Feb. 16, along with the $50.00 registration fee deposit per child. After that date, new student applications will be accepted. (New students in grades K-8 will be required to pay the full year s registration fee upon approval by the Board of Christian Education.) The registration deposit is non-refundable and will be deducted from the fees shown on the payment table. ALL students who are new to Zion for the 2017-2018 school year must provide their certified birth certificate to be copied by the school. HEALTH EXAM REQUIREMENTS: Physical Exam: Sports Physical: Dental Exam: Eye Exam: Preschool (unless a returning student with valid exam on file at school), Kindergarten, and 6 th grade exams are due at Zion by August registration. (Check with the school office or your doctor on forms). Required prior to participating in any practices or games in grades 5-8. If a regular physical is required by the state, it can be counted for this. (Note information above.) Kindergarten, 2 nd, and 6 th graders by May 15 th of the 2017-2018 school year. Kindergarten students and students enrolling in a public or private school for the first time (excluding preschool students) will need an eye exam by October 15 th of the current year. Kindergarten is a full-day program at Zion. Information regarding the preschool programs are being sent out on a separate letter. September 1 st is the date for attaining the age required for Kindergarten (i.e. a child who has not reached the age of 5 by September 1 st will not be eligible for Kindergarten). Financial support for Zion School is provided in many ways: congregational support, registration fees, tuition, gifts, and fundraising activities. February 1, 2017 Dear Zion Lutheran School Parents, It s time to register for the 2017-2018 school year! We are already making preparations for a great new school year. We ve been blessed to provide Christian education for over 127 years in this community. Included in this packet are the enrollment application forms and important information concerning registration. Please complete all forms and return them to our school office by February 16, 2017. After February 16 th, open enrollment begins for new students. We look forward to partnering with you to provide your child(ren) a high quality Christian education. The Congregation of Zion Lutheran Church is committed to supporting the school by providing the financial means to offset the actual cost to educate each student. We recognize the importance of keeping the tuition affordable; however, there will be a slight tuition increase for the upcoming school year of approximately $3-$4 per child, per month. Tuition and basic registration fees for grades K-8 for the 2017-2018 school year are shown on the Fee Table below. (Preschool information is included in a separate letter.) If your payment amount is not clear from the table, please contact us for assistance. Costs for student insurance, yearbooks, hymnals, Bibles, lunch, etc., are not included in these fees, and will be collected at registration. A $50.00 deposit per child is required in the spring from returning families, and the remaining registration/technology fees are to be paid in full at August registration. New students in grades K-8 must pay the full registration/technology fee when registering in the spring. These amounts will be deducted from the registration/technology fees collected in August. Registration fees are paid directly to the school, while tuition is paid thru the church office. Unfortunately, automatic bank withdrawal or credit cards cannot be used to pay registration fees.
