SPIRIT DAY AT THORNRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL Our students are rewarded with fun activities on TR spirit days! We had professional dancers, singers, spoken word by students, games, and basketball contests. Fun was had by all participants.

AVID OCTOBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH Thornridge s AVID is pleased to announce our Student of the Month for October! Junior AVID Student Sonja Bradley has been awarded this honor by her AVID teacher, Mr. Konopasek for her outstanding progress she has made in AVID and the rest of her classes. She is mastering all of the AVID strategies, setting a great example for her peers. Congratulations Sonja, we wish you continued success!

Thank you to our BAND Students Parents, Friends and Community persons at our 4th Annual Packing Party for Operation Christmas Child sponsored by Samaritans Purse. We filled over 100 Boxes for children in need of life essentials from all over the world will be blessed as a result of your philanthropy. THORNRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD A special shout to Sheila Flowers and the custodial staff for assisting with logistics. THANK YOU TR BAND FAMILY!

TW Marching Thunderbirds Congratulations to student, Nate Edwards for being selected to represent Thornwood High School at the 2018 ILMEA District 1 Band Festival on Saturday, November 17 th at Oak Park & River Forest High School. Thunderbird Pride

TW Athletics Varsity Girls Volleyball lead by Head Coach Franklin and Assistant Coach Swanigan participated in the Hillcrest Hawks Invitational on Saturday, September 15 th. Varsity rallied and took 1 st Place and The Varsity Volleyball team also hosted their first tournament at Thornwood High School over the Columbus Day Holiday taking 1 st place. Go Lady T-Birds! TW Athletics cont d Congratulations to the District 205 Boys Soccer team for advancing to the Sectional Championship against Mount Carmel High School on October 26 th. This District Soccer Team, led by Senior Forwards Jose Fernandez, Edgar Vargas and Goalie Jose Lopez. In fact, this team features 15 Thunderbirds and featured in the Chicago Tribune this year. Thunderbird Pride

TW Student Activities cont d On October 30 th, Student Activities sponsored Halloween High. This event was an enjoyment for not only the kids in our community, but also TW Staff & Students who volunteered. There was candy, games, music and more candy for Preschoolers up to children age 10. Our Thunderbird Family unified to make this event a success. We look forward to next year. Thunderbird Pride
